On a downward path; Bonus disc is unlistenable
This album was originally released in 1977 and was 41 minutes long. In 2005, it was released on CD with 4 bonus tracks (three studio and one live). On this newer release, it is now a double CD. The first CD still contains the bonus studio tracks (with Robert Fripp on one track). The second CD is the complete concert. That is supposed to be Brooke Shields on the cover.Nektar is an English band that was formed in Germany. They were an English progress rock band with a hint of German Kraut Rock influences. This album came in 1977 when progress rock was on a downward slope as bands tried to respond to changing musical styles and tried to make a hit. So, this album is quite a bit different from their earlier albums and is not that good. Also, Roye Albrighton is not on this album and the album really suffers because of it.The live album has absolutely horrible sound quality. It does have some very good songs on it played in the old Nektar style but the sound quality is so bad you can't really enjoy the music. This is one of the worst official live releases I have ever heard. It is much worse than Black Sabbath's Live at Last or Hawkwind's Early Daze and those two are pretty bad.

The Child Is Alive
This is the follow up to RECYCLED. Its more tamed down but a great change nevertheless. I enjoy every song. AWAY FROM ASGURD is christmasie starting off with the sound of bells. An upbeat song. If Recycled is dark, Magic is more joyful.
