Many of the bells were crumbling and not suitable for neighbor gifts.

Although I prefer to feed birds, the squirrels dominate so I mainly buy these for them. I put them into a holder and let 'em go at it. The only reason I dinged a star is because a lot of seeds fall off as soon as I open the packages. Maybe it's because they get knocked loose in shipping, but it's annoying to lose a bunch of seeds before I even hang it. Otherwise these are a good item to feed your furry and feathered friends.

I thought this would be perfect for my bird that loves these seeds. This thing is a mess! WhenI picked it up I could feel loose seeds in the wrapping... no problem seeds fall off all the time. I start opening the wrapper & seeds start falling out all over. I had to finish opening it over a plate. It was falling apart & it wasn't even in the netting! Well trying to put what's left of the bell into the netting was ridiculous. The netting was catching onto the seed ends & more seeds were falling off all over. Seeds were all falling out through the loose netting. I stopped, took the misshapen piece and put it at the bottom of the cage & put the large amount of seeds in a different spot for her to pick out as needed. This is the worst bell I have ever ordered!I actually just cancelled my subscribe & save rather than waste money on this mess again.The only positive I can say is my bird liked the seeds when I mixed them with her other seeds.

It took several months but the pygmy nuthatches finally discovered it. They seem to really like it. So far, other birds have not noticed it, nor has a squirrel. Gelatin is used to bind the seeds together and I think this is why mold has started to form. The bell is in the shade in my cool, foggy, damp yard, so it is not surprising.

I love to feed the birds and squirrels in my yard. It's a great show. Thought this would be a good choice and keep me from having to go out and refill the bird feeder in the cold weather. The squirrels hang on it, upside down and sideways and hog the whole thing, keeping any birds from getting any.

Wild birds not attacking this like other seed bells i've purchased...They just started to pick at it several weeks after I hung it...

Birds love the sunflower bells. Wish they were a little more firmly made. They fall apart easily.

Like the other reviewer, I thought the birds would love this in winter time. I purchased two and put the first one into the red mesh bag. No birds even landed on it. I took the second one and placed it into my platform feeder and only bird that visits is a downy woodpecker and only occasionally. Squirrels seem to love the one on the platform and I have to bring it in when I'm not watching or they will try to haul it away. I would not recommend this if you are trying to attract birds. It costs many times more than the mixed bird seed bells that they love.
