A quaint little music box, which plays a brief, remarkably accurate and tuneful, rendition of the Harry Potter tune.Hold it in your hand as you turn the crank, and the music is almost inaudible; place it on any hard surface (table; wall; book; etc), and a reasonable volume is produced. (But don't expect electronically amplified strength!! We are talking matchbox-sized mechanical toy here, after all!).A perfect stocking filler, which was delivered very promptly. I would recommend this.UPDATEI bought a second one - and was disappointed to find that it played dreadfully out of tune. I was about to complain / dispose of it when I noticed that one of the tines was actually dragging on the plastic rather than the metal tune disc. Further investigation revealed that the whole metal plate was misaligned, so that the tines were being plucked by the wrong spikes. A couple of seconds' work with a screwdriver to loosen the two screws, realign the metal plate, and screw it down again and - voilà. Good as new!You get what you pay for, and this is remarkably cheap. But if it seems to malfunction, it's worth seeing if there is only a minor adjustment needed ...

I don’t recognise the Tune at all. This took ages to arrive. It was cheap but total wast of money. It’s my own fault I didn’t realise it was being sent from China! I should have and have in the past ordered from a U.K. company with much better result.

It does produce music but sound it too low to be able to identify the melody. Should go for the one with Box . It may produce better sound

This was for one of my grandsons and he loves it.

I bought two of these musical box movements with the intention of incorporating them in a craft item.I have not done so.'Für Elise' is recognisable, but has an unwanted extra bit on the end.As for the 'Blue Danube', it's not a passage I instantly recognise but like Eric said, it's got all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order.Otherwise, they're fine.

If I could have put no stars I would have. Can hardly be heard at all even without being put in any kind of surround.

This is a really nice thing to own, plays a nice little tune that anyone would love, a mechanical thing that works anytime and nearly any place.
