This is an excellent camera for the price, resolves color in bright outdoor lighting and black and white in dim lighting. Colors are skewed toward infrared. IR lighting performance is excellent, resolution is relatively low (highest is 640x480, enough to see things happen but not recognizes faces from a distance in real-world lighting). Lens is adjustable, but can have different slightly focus from one side to another due to slight CCD-lens misalignment. Works well on both ethernet and WiFi. WiFi range is about 40 feet in open air, 25 feet or so in a real world house, works on 2.4 GHz only. Pan and Tilt are individually rate-adjustable from about 5º to 180º per second on both azimuth and elevation axes. Can do patrol modes with multiple speeds and cycle counts. Also does email nicely (sends 5 pictures in 5 seconds in an email, using Gmail in particular is nearly effortless), and easily connects with FTP servers, sending 5 pictures per motion sense event. Not weatherproof, sustained humidity will eventually kill it (rain will ruin it quickly--indoor only), surprisingly attractive to roaches (used one to check for infestations), attracted to warm main board. Sound quality is good but has a glitch where amplitude can suddenly double, then return just as suddenly to normal. Microphone quality is typical, when listening through the mike, pan and tilt motors are audible but not deafening. If the camera is set in a sealed acrylic canister the motor sounds are louder.) Also can send sounds to it, but an external amplified speaker is required. Has access to low current relay switch. Doesn't have az-el memory (can't save specific pan-tilt positions for rapid positioning to specific points). As an indoor camera very reliable. I bought several of these and am happy with them.

Overall this was a bargain Wireless IP Webcam. Despite the poor documentation I had no problem setting it up and getting it working with my monitoring software. At longer range (over 40 ft) wireless communication was somewhat lackluster showing a lot of dropped packets and periodically losing the signal altogether. However it could be dramatically improved using a high-gain antenna or wired connection. Other wireless devices at the same range from the router worked without any of these issues.I ended up hard-wiring the camera which made a vast performance improvement. Effective web device interface offering solid pan/tilt control and a reasonable quality picture other than the fact that the grass showed up as purple and my black sweatshirt showed up as various shades of blue regardless of contrast/brightness controls. Night vision worked particularly well and since it switches to monochrome, none of the color balance issues were present.If you don't care about the color issues and just want a simple IP webcam for security purposes this will do the trick for a reasonable price. I wanted to like this camera but it simply does not compare to the quality of my Foscam IP camera which has good colors and is more solidly built but that costs at least 50% more.Bottom line, its not terrible and the price is right so you get what you pay for, maybe not all of these cameras have the same extreme color problems but judging from one reply to my query in the answer section, I know of at least one other user with the same issue. Your experience may differ, unfortunately there is not a replacement option from this supplier, just a return one, I may reorder at a later date if the color issues get resolved but in the meantime it is on its way back for a refund.

For a small price of about 50 dollars (shipping included), the camera has worked good. I am not an expert in IT but know enough to get things going by following directions. The camera was easy to configure and setup, the image quality is good and lots of functions as mentioned in the ad. I ordered two of these in order to monitor while we are away on leave or even when we are out for a whole day and want to see what our pet cat is up-to. I have not figured out the voice and sound feature yet, but according to the manufacturer's manual, it does contain this, so I am researching. The fifth star that this item cannot get is due to the fact that the manual is written by an expert who does not realize that not all customers are experts, assumptions are made I think that the reader understands fully when an abbreviated statement is made. Although a CD is added with a manual, the manual lacks in lots of information and I am now preparing to get on the reviews to gain access to set up information, i will not go to the manufacturer to ask questions since they have done enough putting together the manual that is hard to follow. The alarm and e-mail functions are yet to be set, so i don't know how these will function, i am sure once set these will be ok.Anyway, the camera has commenced working, pan, tilt speed control etc.functions are happening and i am glad that i can do this via wifii without any difficulty. My advice to the manufacturer, subcontract the manual portion so that a proper instruction can be put together with detailed step by step fashion so that this excellent piece of equipment can be more user friendly.
