You shouldn't expect to build a skyscraper
But the Tape King is a great tool for measuring. It ISNT a tape measure. I does most things better. The laser seems to be around +/-.05% margin of error, the string is about the same (mostly because you do not know where to start it.) Have you ever needed to be super accurate from the length of a tape measure? I doubt it. Have you ever been annoyed with a floppy metal stick trying to hold on a wall? You should use a tape measure. P.S. the roller is useless.

Completely Inaccurate. Waste of money.
This measure is off by over 3/4 of n inch in just a 1 foot measure. in a 3 foot measure it was off by 4 inches. i couldn't buy a correct curtain rod with the measurements this things give. The laser never worked at all, couldn't get a reading, and the roller has such poor bearings that unless your rolling it on very textured material, it can't smoothly roll and get a reading.

Great idea, cheap, crappy implementation.
I absolutely love the idea of this measure- three different systems in one. I gave it a 3* review because OMG this thing feels cheap as junk. It's made of lightweight plastic, and the fit and finish is pretty terrible. I don't expect this thing to last a month in a workshop. The string measurement is also extremely sketchy- sometimes it's wrong by a half a foot! A quarter inch or so might be acceptable, but with this level of error the string measurement is worthless. The roller measurement is dead-on though. I was pleasantly surprised by its accuracy, and it's the only reason I didn't return the measure. The ultrasonic/laser measure is also within spec. Overall, I'm sorry this concept was snapped up by a cheap "Made for TV" company and not a proper tool company who might have QC'd it at least up to a hobby woodworker's expectation.

bought it, tried it, then threw it away
I bought it hoping to give my measurement batter accuracy, but unfortunately, it gave me more headaches than the normal measuring tape. First, I was shocked to find out that the laser is out of alignment, and it never gives you an accurate reading. Then, if you need to use the Flex Cord mode, you will need someone else with you to do it.So, I bought it, I've tried it, then I threw it away.Don't waste your money

Waste of Money
This item is cheaply made and not consistant in measurement. The laser errors out more times than it measures . The few times it did give a reading, it was off by over 3 inches in a 4 foot measurement. Amazon wanted $6 to return it, so in the trash it went. Save your money, this is typical "As seen on TV" junk.
