I use a floor lamp with magnified lighting next to my bed when I read, cross-stitch. the one I had previously was not sturdy, lightweight and over time, the rod kept bending and finally came out of the base. This one has a heavy base, rolls around great when it is moved every day. I had to figure out how to turn the light around, not the best directions, but I figured it out.
