Kiddo couldn't put it down!
My six year old was so excited about this book that he started reading it to himself as soon as we opened the package and didn't stop until he got to the end. Usually we read these together, but I had to wait my turn - and I did have to take a turn, because he wants to discuss the plot with me. I felt that the subject matter of this volume was a little more intense than previous entries. In each of the first few books there's a distinct real-world plot and in-game plot that are related to each other but clearly separate. This time the line is less distinct, making it feel more like the characters could be in actual danger, and the book ends with an unsettling encounter with the Evoker King. It makes for an exciting story, but readers who are a little more sensitive to scariness might want to wait on this one.I continue to be very happy with the quality of these books. The illustrations are great, the actual physical book is sturdy and appealing, and the writing is smooth and evocative and just complex enough for an early chapter book reader. I love the characters, and discussing these books with my son is a genuine pleasure. I'm a big reader, and a writer myself, and it's been really great to find stories that are relevant to my son's interest in Minecraft that are also GOOD.

Wonderful book....but was printed upside-down!
The book itself (the whole series) keeps my child's interest in reading, which is not an easy feat! He loves Minecraft, and he truly enjoys these books. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw him reading the book upside down. I thought he was joking around, but it turns out the book was bound/printed upside down. Never before have I seen this happen, but our whole family had a good laugh about it. This book, and all the others in the Woodsword Chronicles series are truly outstanding for boys in 1st -3rd/4th grades. I can only hope that my son will find another series that interests him once he finishes this one.

Kid loved it
From nine year old: "I think it's a great book. I liked that it had mystery and that it had an adventure. The coolest part was how they linked Nether portals throughout the world."From me (parent): I have no idea what that means, but I think he loved it. We pre-ordered this one because he enjoyed the others so much. Definitely recommend for reluctant readers.

Kept him interested!
These books are great for 8-10 year olds that like to read. I'll admit that my 9yo is a great reader, though. Highly recommend for Minecraft lovers.

Good relevant enjoyable read for a young minecraft fan.
This book has been read by an 8 year boy who has totally enjoyed reading the books. They are about a group of school children who enter a VR minecraft world. The book is well written and art produced to a good standard. The story is interesting and up to date with what’s happening in the minecraft world. If you have a child who isn’t into reading but enjoys minecraft I would recommend you try them on this book.

For minecraft lovers!
Our 9 year old loves this series of books and is excited when a new one arrives. The books are not too lengthy so they are read very quickly. If your kid loves minecraft, then they will like these books.
