IBXN0056 Hose Bib Hammer Arrestor, 3/4", Copper

Used to be you would just add a”L” somewhere in the line but eventually it fills with water and stops working. This guy has a piston which separates the water from the gas so in theory should never “water-log”. It’s rated for 35 valves which could cause water hammer. My irrigation system only had 5 or 6 but they would hammer so hard on shutoff they twice burst schedule 40 PVC and a couple of pressure regulators. I was about to go to all viper feed lines when I came across this. Works well and installs easily. So far no problems. Fingers crossed.

Works great..installed it about 2 months ago and problem solved at a great price. Highly recommended if your having a water hammer issue with 1/2 inch pex..

It didn’t really help as much as I expected. We lowered the pressure to the washer and this in conjunction with the part fixed the issue. At full open, the washer still hammers.

Could not find replacement for "Oatey 90 series AA size" hammer arresters, that failed over time and very noticeable hammering sound was there when washing machine was operating. So decided to install these ones. Absolutely no hammering, so far works great

I purchased a few of these and put these on 2 different washing machines in 2 different houses. Both didn’t work as advertised. It’s advertised as being able to stop the pipes from banging. However, in both instances, they were still banging. I took video demonstrating and allowing you to hear the sound after install. However, they had the video taken down…. The item itself is very easy to install and seems durable. Unfortunately, they didn’t work in my case..

after 8+ years apparently the pipe straps holding the washer lines inside the wall worked their way out or loose and pipes have been banging for a few months, I called the contractor that did the work and he said he would have to tear out the wall to fix the issue and it would happen a gain over time because of the washers "energy saving" pump that starts and stops over and over.He suggested this as a possible fix, I purchased and am very satisfied, while the pipe hammer is not 100% gone, I will say that it is 85%-90% gone, there is still some minor hammer when using the "econo" mode on the washer, but normal cycles are fine.

Maybe I have a different issue then a thought but the device made no difference in the sound and vibration I heard when my orbit automatic sprinkler turns off. Therefore, for $20 bucks I have to return. Not sure if item is defective or have another issue besides water hammer. But was sad made no difference.

See photo for what it looks like. Super easy to do and worked a treat.Note that it’s more likely to be thread compatible if you put it on the tap side and not the washing machine side.Make sure you use thread tape (Teflon tape) and tighten the nut so that the rubber bush inside forms a good seal.

bought initially for DIY to resolve water hammer issue from washing machine. couldn't find economical adaptor fitting due to US thread. Missed the refund window, now own loss.

It surely absorbs the shock! Needed a lot of tape to seal the ends properly.

I had an outside hose that hammered each time I opened it and had tried all the other remedies I had read about .This was the last chance and it worked .What was interesting was that the first time we had it in service we still had the problem, so it sounded like we had no progress . Something came up and I did not have time to remove the unit .So the next time we turned the hose on it worked with no hammering !!
