Pure Land Sutra: translation of the Infinite Life Sutra Paperback – March 18, 2014

I enjoy the quality of the paper. The binding is expected to be how you would imagine a pocket sized paperback book would be, and as that is so you get what you pay for: a Pocket Sized Infinite Life Sutra.As for its content, the Sutra text is in verse form, which I found different from the English BDK Pure Land Sutras format towards reading it, also different from the English Jodo Shu translation in format. In this regard, with this Pocket Sized Sutra, expect it to have a small text format as shown.I overall enjoy the book for its portable format because it serves its purpose for my use.Namo Amitabha Buddha!

If you see "CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform" anywhere in a book's description, do not buy it! This is Amazon's cut-rate shoddy printing division in Kentucky, and they are incapable of producing anything worth paying for. The paper quality and poor printing of this important text combine to make it completely unreadable. The printing is so light it seems to be done in white ink. The paper is so poor quality one can actually see wood chips in it. And the binding makes a telephone book look like a Gutenberg Bible.Amazon should be required to provide full disclosure for the shoddy books they produce. It's almost as if they want people to buy much more lucrative electronic books...

The price of this Sutra is Awesome!!!! its actually affordable for everyone.The book is 4 X 6 inches and fits in my back pocket and it does not cause any discomfort or buldge when I sit, it is easy to transport with me anywhere I go which allows me to be able to read it on the train while I wait, or in the office or waiting room.The Sutra also has numbered verses which I have not seen used in other Buddhist Sutras, I LOVE THIS about the book,I have always had problems in the past with remembering where passages are located in the Sutras,and I have had problems showing my friends important Buddhist teachings cause I had to first search through the entire book and chapters just to find the passage I was looking for, now I can tell my friends my favorite passage is V223 and they can find it instantly.Another reviewer said they could see wood chips in the paper and the ink was so light it was white ,that was not my experience or my friends experience with this book at all, the paper looked like well.......paper.(of course i'm not a connoisseur of paper and don't know the difference between "rich" paper and "poor" paper.)The ink was lighter which it say it was a charcoal black instead of a bold black however the ink was still black and I could still read the pages without any problem.the binding was......binding (again i'm not a connoisseur of binding)I can tell you that the binding/book has withstood being in my back pocket for 12 hrs a day everyday,being sat on and rained on and the ink and pages have withstood the abuse thus far.
