Design Toscano CS22650 Aloha Hawaii Tiki: Moai Haku Hana Sculpture, 7" Wx7 Dx21 H, woodtone

Sat outside in the hedge, next to a hot tub. 2 days after the 30 day return policy, this item blew over in a rainstorm. As others have commented, it broke clean off at one of the "necks". Plastic molded statue, plastic is quite brittle & walls are thin, item was sitting on the ground & blew over, broke on hitting teh ground. Was not at any height. Should come with some sort of a ground anchor to prevent, or better yet, make it from something that won't shatter when it falls over. I would return it if I could, but since the 30 days is up, I can only warn others to beware. For inside use in your basement tiki bar, OK, but for outdoor use, buyer beware. Looks cool, but crappy construction. Should be a $15 item, not $50, or better yet, download a photo & print it & hang it on your wall behind the bar.Update on December 12, 2015 | EditSecond incident, fell over again when putting it away for the winter. Fell over on its side on the grass, and broke again, this time in 3 pieces instead of 2. Better keep it on a solid support - or better yet on a shelf, behind glass, away from traffic, safe from any disturbance. Not suitable for outdoor traffic area (oh, like a pool or a tiki bar...)

This is quite an impressive tiki sculpture. This is actually the second time that I have bought this particular item. This first one was purchased directly from Toscano. If you have one of these sculptures, I would recommend that you secure it in some way or the other so that it cannot be knocked over as they will easily break into many pieces if they fall over. My other one was knocked over twice by someone bumping into it and each time it broke into several pieces. I was able to repair it these first two times using Elmer's wood glue. The third time it was knocked over by the April 6, 2010 earthquake that hit Southern California. This time it shattered into about 30 pieces. I was able to reassemble almost all of the pieces and I now have it sitting outside on the patio secured with string. In short, this is a very impressive sculpture, but if you are going to buy one you need to find someway to secure it so that it can't be knocked over. They will shatter even if they fall over on a carpeted surface. The sculture is made out of some type of plastic or resin which is not very thick in some areas. The inside of it is hollow. I now have my new one securely tied to the wall with string.

Ymaham is correct. It looks better than the photograph when you see the real thing. The colors are more vivid and you don't get the three-dimensional effect of the carving when looking at the picture.The other commenter is also correct in that the Tiki could tip over. I'm going to the hardware store tomorrow to get what I need to anchor it to a wall.It comes cushioned within two large pieces of styrofoam so it should withstand any reasonable handling while being shipped.If you've always wanted something like this, go ahead and buy one. You won't be disappointed.UPDATEMy solution was to use a screen door hook to attach the Tiki to the wall. A word of caution: Be very careful drilling into the Tiki. An old-fashioned human powered drill will work better than a power drill.

This arrived so quickly, the day after I ordered it and I could not be happier. This statue is so well made and looks far more expensive than it really is. It has quite a bit of heft to it. Very charming looking. If you’re a tiki fan, you must own this. It’s just so cool looking.

We have everything Tiki and this piece has added to our decor. Colors are great, wish it was a little larger but my husband was pleased to get it for Father's Day.

I purchased this Pani totem, and it is wonderful to look at, but it is way too top heavy. The bottom is smaller than the top, so that even the slightest disturbance will knock it over. To solve that problem, I ordered a 7-1/2" square Rosewood vase stand from Amazon. It stands three inches tall. I attached the totem with a whole tube of superglue, let it set for 24 hours, and now it is beautiful and sturdy.

Design Toscana are an American firm, started approximately a quarter century ago, with the aim - initially, at any rate - of making available to Americans sculptural artefacts of European origin. This 'tiki' totem pole - approx. two-and-a-half feet tall - shows that they now cast their creative net wider.I have to be honest and say that I've now collected several items from this company I never would've got had they not been free via Amazon Vine. Design Toscana do some more old-fashioned stately home style stuff I'd love to have. But thus far I've only been offered stuff of a more kitschy contemporary type.This Tiki Aloha Hawaii totem-pole type sculpture, a fairly large colourful faux-wood sculpture, is - for the money - as well made a mass-produced object as one could hope for. Tiki are supposed to ward off evil spirits. And from reviews I've seen on a amazon.com, these sculptures are intended for and often placed in gardens.Some of those same reviewers also add, and I can see why, that this sculpture - particularly if left outdoors - lacks stability, so needs anchoring. It's also fragile, which given the issues of balance means care is needed, if it's not to quickly be broken, or start looking rather tatty.For now ours is currently 'warding off evil spirits' in our guest room!

This Aloha Hawaii Tiki Sculpture of Moai Haku Pani style, is a fun way to dress up your garden, or even your house interior as a way to bring the Hawaiian beach fun into your life!Hand-painted and made to look like the rough-hewn original native carving (although this is made out of resin) has all around appeal, literally, is designed to look good from every angle, the full 360 degrees for all to see! Moai Haku Pani: W x D x H; 5/12 x 5/12 x 31 inches; 9 lbs.Mine toppled over in the really bad winds and chipped a tiny piece off the top. Silly really, it stood well, and was quite sturdy for the rest of the year. So in extreme weather, it's wise to bring it in, to avoid this happening to yours!

This is unquestionably the best piece of garden furniture in existence. It's a great size, taller than both of my children, with a fantastic amount of detail and colour, made from a material that feels like it will really weather and last well.Imagine every American movie you've ever watched where rich teenagers had crazy Tiki parties with flowers around their necks and hot tubs. Then imagine having that Tiki tower in your own garden, replacing all those stupid garden gnomes with their bums out. There really aren't two ways of saying it - this sculpture is amazing, I love it, I'd recommend it, and it would take a monster not to appreciate this in their garden.
