With all the bells and whistles you could ask for the Alaskan comes loaded with everything minus the kitchen sink. So if you're tired of rolling around town in that dusty old parka from yesteryear feel free to step into something a bit more first class. The Alaskan jacket has been a cornerstone of our collection for close to a decade and it's still rolling strong with our Prime 20 technology. Tested and approved by our top backcountry riders.

As of when I wrote this, this is the ONLY review, so I am writing in as I wear the jacket with much detail to help others out.
Just received my new jacket after having worn the same jacket for the last 15 years or so. Did a LOT of research and really was unimpressed with almost all new jackets out there. Until I found this one. No where to try on in stores (as usual) but did my research, which sadly did not include any reviews as there doesn't seem to be any, on any website. Hmmmm. Well, I bought it on a whim thinking it would be the holy grail, especially at almost half price and actually looked cool. Well, it is not up to par. All the adjustments are nothing more than a nuisance. They don't work. The anti-fog ventilation flap on the collar is stupid looking and just gets in the way of zipping up, if you use it, you can/t zip the jacket, if you don't, it just hangs awkwardly tickling your chin. When collar is unzipped it just hangs there all flappy and useless. The cuff gaiters are WAY too long and quite annoying. The cuffs are oversized and when you adjust them with the hokey Velcro, they bunch up an unsightly amount which doesn't go with the overall slimmer fit of the jacket. The phone leash would be cool if it worked, however it makes the phone go crazy thinking you're touching the whole area the rubber crosses. The hand pockets are quite small and hard to use without gloves on, but with gloves you couldn't put anything in or take out easily. The tiny stiffly lined pocket on the chest seems to have no purpose other than being an opening to let snow or rain in. Really cannot figure out what purpose it has.... One good thing is it does look nice, Laying down on a table..... Fabric seems good, design not so much.Update. As of 1 month of wearing. I wore it on the slopes on a very wet day. Kept me dry inside however I have discovered the DWR is not good. Jacket was soaked before getting on the lift. Two other days of wearing in the rain and the same problem. My jacket was wet walking one block to my car. I guess I'll need to use an aftermarket treatment to make it work. I cut out the phone leash and useless pocket adjustments. Also use a couple small strong magnets to keep the flappy flap in place away from my chin. Jacket also wrinkles easily and for some reason looks like it has a belly button. The stitching is off a bit and causes a little inward pooch. So far, would not recommend.

3 Seasons and going strong, great but not perfect
I've had mine for 3 ski seasons now, and still really like it. It keeps me warm and dry most days, and I just wear another layer if it's below 20, and unzip the pit zips if it gets warm.. I like the wrist gators too, to help keep my hands warmer. The adjustable sleeve cuffs accommodates any sized glove or mitten, and you can tighten them around the glove to keep snow out. Soft neck liner feels good though when it's cold I have a neck gaiter. I love the look and color (fire red) and get compliments on it. The jacket is a bit heavy, certainly compared to a down jacket, but I don't like the puffy look of down.I read the 1* review and don't see many of those problems, at least not to the extent that person does. That review actually led me to leaving my own, because I just don't think it's that bad, though maybe it just doesn't meet their situation at all.I'm not sure what the anti-fog ventilation flap is. Maybe it's part of the hood, which I removed since I don't like a hood with a ski helmet. I don't tend to zip up to the very top, but I can. I agree that most pockets are a little small, and that front chest pocket flap is kind of useless and is the one thing about the jacket appearance I don't like. The inside zipper pocket is nicely large, and I wish there was one on each side. I don't use the phone leash. Seems like a good idea to prevent you from dropping your phone on the ski lift but I get that it might interfere. It's out of the way so I didn't bother cutting it. My phone fits nicely and safely in the inside chest pocket. The water issue, well, I just don't ski in the rain. I just ran a sleeve under the sink and water partially ran off, with a little bit absorbed (but didn't soak through to the inside). If you need better water repellency you should treat it with something else, or look at a different jacket. I've never noticed an issue with snow. It claims to have a 20,000mm waterproof rating but I don't believe it. I suppose if I think about it, since it soaks up some water it might be a bit colder under the snow guns. Not sure if we can talk about prices but I got mine at another site for about 1/2 to less than 1/3 the prices listed here now. Low 100s. I don't think it's worth the prices listed here, certainly not the top. It's got all the features I wanted (pit zips, wrist gaiters, pass sleeve pocket, inside chest pocket), looks and feels good, and I only dock a star because of the other smaller pockets and that it could be more water repellent.
