First impression, impressive!
Very happy to have bought this in the Black Friday sale. Excellent price. I've only used the wide paddle brush so far, and my hair looks really good! Very easy and quick, too. I struggle to keep my fine and frizzy-ish hair looking good after initial drying, and try to avoid straighteners if I can, and this worked a treat. Took on board what many of the reviews said about over heating, so I'm using the cooler option on almost dry hair. Very pleased so far, and hoping the other styling parts work just as well, but if not, I'm happy with the results at the Black Friday price.

Replaced the hairdryer for 15 months but sadly it’s time for this item to retire to the bin.
UPDATE: After 15 month, it needs replacing. For the last few months, it’s been getting very hot, so much so that it’s too hot for my daughter. If you switch it off, there’s a click and it won’t switch on until you hear another click (because it’s getting far too hot). It has a bald patch where the bristles have fallen out (probably due to it getting too hot). It has been used pretty much every day for those 15 months but in 16 years, I’m only onto my 3rd hairdryer (which also got use every day).My daughter is at an age where she will be taking more notice of her appearance soon and will want more independence with showering, drying hair etc. So I bought this for her birthday but was a little worried about the larger brush after reading some of the reviews. We both have short bobbed hair and I'm even using this on my hair now (with her blessing), as it does a great job and is much more convenient (and lighter) than the hair dryer. The larger brush is actually perfect for both of us.Downsides: it gets very hot and I have to be careful around her ears so I don't catch them, because understandably it burns. I have to turn it in my hands as I work through the hair and keep catching the control switch and switching it down low of even off, which is not the end of the world but is annoying/frustrating!I do wish there were two gloves as I do have to keep swapping it over to the other hand as I move around my hair. It gets too hot to use it without the glove.Despite the downsides, I would happily recommend this product.

Big hair Vs this
I have had a babyliss big hair for a very long time i think i have only replaced it once over the past 8 years. The big hair worked fab for me except that the cool shot began to blow hot air instead which couldn't be good for my hair. It also takes me a while to dry my hair as i need to use a hairdryer then use the big hair to style as i am hopeless with those big round brushes. So i went for this option as it's of similiar price £35.99 currently on offer, and apparently does the drying and the styling. Now i have mixed feelings about this hair dryer - i want to be in love with it but I'm not.Round brush head - 3/5Doesn't rotate by itself and as i said i am no good at styling. I find that if i roll the brush up manually then unwind again it leaves my hair frizzy -and if i pull the brush down doesn't quite give me the same bounce as the big hair did. (I added a picture to show you what I mean) I do however prefer the bristle on this as it will catch and pull lesser hair.Perhaps I need some more practicing with -although I'm not entirely convinced on itThe flat brush head - 5/5This one took me by surprise. Infact it actually beats the round brush head as it dryed my hair beautifully at the roots. I have coloured hair growing out so my roots tend to stay wet for longer and so this brush worked perfect. I didn't get a bouncy blow dry effect but it dryed my hair gently without need of a seperate brush.Dryer tip 5/5 -This is also good. Similiar to the flat brush it does wonders for drying. It is also much lighter than you average hair dryer - and the air flow is better if you want to dry your roots first - or roots only and head out.Curling tong 2/5 -Takes alot of time. Didn't work for me or rather I don't have that sort of patience. Perhaps it's because of my hair but honestly if you are looking for air styles-do you really want hot copper on your hair? Or maybe you do.. it's ok But in my opinion this isnt efficient.Heatproof gloves 5/5 -A very pleasant addition. Perfwct size and not too thick so you can still run fingers down hair without making it greasy and hold tip of heads. So all in all - if this lightweight styler had the ability to rotate like big hair then i would be jumping up and down with joy and raving about this as it would be the only thing I use. My sole purpose was to make space in my drawer but now i have an extra thing to make space for.. haha.I am giving it a four star because it is hard to find a styler with 1000watts as they usually are 700-800watts. The extra power on this is what Makes it possible for your to dry your hair. I think if you are comfortable styling with a round brush then this will not disappoint you. The cord is the same length as the big hair - the switch button is easier to use in this than big hair as it doesn't get stuck. Also I trust babyliss over the very cheap china alternatives thats found here.Sorry about the long review but hopefully you'll know what to expect now and hope it helps you make a decision.Happy hair!!!

At last, a hair styler I can use!
I'm really bad at hair. Can't do it. I'm autistic with dyspraxia and spacial awareness issues and I simply cannot manage the dexterity needed for these hair tools and I can't translate what I'm seeing in the mirror to what my hands are doing! I have spent a fortune on various implements for styling hair over the years and with one exception, they have all ended up given away or gathering dust in a box.I got one of these for a friend for Christmas and she insisted that I'd be able to use it - bear in mind, all I want out of life is a tidy bob style - I'm not ambitious!.So with yet another triumph of hope over experience, I purchased it.SUCCESS!It's chunky enough for me to hold without dropping it without being too heavy and the large brush just makes the bob happen with very little input from me. If I use the regular brush, it dries straight and smooth and drying my hair only takes a few minutes. For someone who has more hairstyling skills, I'm betting you could do a lot more fancy stuff, but I'll take the win!100% recommend

Very lightweight and easy to use but heats up too much
I have long frizzy curly hair which is not very thick. I have had the revlon one step before which worked great at smoothing my hair but found it too heavy it would give me an arm ache. This is lightweight but feels quite flimsy, it is easy to use however the bristles on both brushes are too thin and separated to hold my hair and create tension for a smooth finish. Also, only the highest setting worked for me which was so hot - burnt my scalp and my hands, it’s too hot too touch even after switching off (I didn’t use the gloves provided). I sent back for a refund. I also looked into reviews deeper and a lot say the product over heats and stops working after a month. I would spend a little more for something else of better quality.
