Nice colourful, hard cover book that in a straight forward manner explains the basics of economic principles. Somehow my daughter really enjoys reading this and she is always keen to pick it up again. It may be the tone and the relatable examples, or perhaps she has a knack for economics. We use the book for guided reading which is great so that I can explain and add stuff as well. And it is even better when it triggers little discussion afterward. She already read the Money and and Business books for beginners in this excellent series as well. It’s good that she picks up some of these principles as its not part of the school curriculum for some years to come. And she now has a much better understanding of how companies and economies operate. Finance and market is my daily business so its also great that this books puts some of my world into perspective for her. In a few years time I will use this for guided reading with her younger brother as well, so it has a prominent place os

They never taught me Politics, Philosophy or Economics at school and I've struggled to understand the basics ever since. Listening to BBC Radio 4's "Today" programme each morning is frustrating, as their presenters, many of who studied PPE at Oxford, just assume every listerner has a detailed knowledge. Even knowing the basics is a real help, so these books, which are extremely easy to read and understand, do a fantastic job introducing the subject. Recommened to all people aged ten and above.

Easy to follow examples for all ages. Value for your money.

The book uses clever cartoon graphics to explain basic concepts such as "comparative advantage" [among others] in a way that younger readers can relate to and enjoy. If I'd had this book when I was a 14-year-old I might have ended up on a different career path altogether!But, like mainstream economics generally, the book simply presents the economy as something without a history - a "given", a bit like the weather, which has no alternative. It treats society as made up of rational individual consumers - there is no indication of social class or of wealth inequality. And no attempt to explain economic crises, to which the capitalist economy is regularly prone. A tad bland and conservative, methinks - but a handy starter.

As an Adult I enjoyed this book. Would recommend for Adults or children to read.

I buy a lot of different kinds of reference books from this publisher. With the colourful pictures make each topic of paragraph very easy understand. My kids love them so much, and so fun to read.

This is a good book to have an idea of economics before you study in your school.In fact every book of this series is a must for 8-12 yr students because it covers every aspect of the subject and helps to develop the foresight to understand the subject when it is taught in school.It also develops the habit to read good books.Above all these books are in hardcover so you can keep them safe for the second child or younger cousins. Very colourful and pictorial presentation keeps your child engaged in the book.

Came the same day I ordered it. The book is in mint condition. I have just browsed on some pages and from the looks of it, kids will easily get a grasp of what the book is about.
