Good participa.t guide, but for teens. I really wanted the original book for adults

A good study overall. Especially valuable because of the daily readings. The exegesis done of the subject material is absolutely superlative. Pastor Moore clearly has a great ability to move you smartly through Advent. The questions, as are typical of so many Methodist studies like this are abysmal. Read the Bible references, think about what Pastor Moore is trying to get across and you will get a real blessing out of this study. Our Bible study group of 11 or so has found this very helpful during the 2014 Advent season. I think it's a very good study. There have been better, there have been much, much worse.

Very good Christmas study. Each week has a group study and there are individual studies for each day during the first four weeks. Over all, it is an excellent study which will gladly be done by my church.

Our ladies' bible study group did this study to prepare our hearts for Christmas during Advent. We enjoyed the rich discussion initiated by the author's message. For those who wanted a deeper study, Six short daily lessons were provided for each of the four weeks. This book works well for individual study as well as in a group setting!

Video host is a bit strange.

Author reminds us of how the world was 2,000 years ago and how many of the issues and challenges are still found today but that there is a chance for hope and peace. Excellent book for individual study or group study.

I wasn't as enthusiastic about this as some others were. I found it a little boring. Unfortunately, I purchased the DVD to go along with the lessons but the DVD was the adult version and not of interest to my kids so I didn't use it.

Moore is an exceptional writer and teacher and provides excellent thought provoking ideas and information in his books. Fresh views on the most important event in the Christian world when combined with the Easter event.

Didn't know the authors but was pleased with other Abingdon Press writers, including Adam Hamilton, and made the purchase. Still working through all the material but find (so far) that the various sessions lack thematic unity and the connections to the Biblical passages referenced aren't always strong.
