Does what its meant to.
When I put a GTX 1080 in my HP Z230 PC, I upgraded the PSU to a 650w ATX unit. I COULD have messed about converting it to run an 18 pin connector, and stent time researching how I needed to splice a 5v regulated signal into it all.......... Or I could just buy one of these. So I bought one of these. :)The most positive thing I can say about any product is "It just works", and this falls into that category. I plugged it in, booted the PC up, played a few games on it, then popped the side back off to check the adapters regulator wasn't melting it's heat shrink wrapping off. It wasn't. Since then I've put 2 or 300 hours of gaming on the system, and nothings gone pop, so as I said "It just works".If you're upgrading a HP Z230, and may need more power than the 400w PSU can put out, it's a no brainer to get one of these and forgoing all the tinkering inside your new PSU to MAKE it compatible. With HP's proprietary oddness.

Great adapter.
Bought a used Z240 tower for my son and wanted to put a 1070 in it so needed to upgrade the PSU. Worked perfectly. Easy to install.

Just the part you need to fit a normal ATX PSU to a Dell
At work we have some old Dell PCs with non-standard power supplies, which are starting to fail. This cable was just the thing I needed to replace the PSU in a Dell Optiplex 980 with a standard ATX PSU (as fitted in almost all desktop PCs).The power supply doesn't quite fit perfectly in the case, but this cable does fit and work perfectly. It allowed me to use a new standard PSU rather than finding a used Dell one, and the industrial PC in question has worked fine since.

Didn't work but return was easy
I did some research to make sure it would work for what I needed but no luck. Easy to return

Poor reliability in my paticular setup.
I ordered the 24 Pin to 18 Pin ATX PSU Power Adapter Cable, to allow me to use a MSI MAG A650BN standard ATX in my HP Z230. For background, this adaptor cable incorporates a boot regulator PCB to convert the 5V standby output (5VSB) from an ATX powersuply into an 11V standby voltage required by the HP motherboard (although I'm not sure on the purpose of the yellow wire also connected into the boost regulator PCB???)Unfortunately the first adaptor I received failed after only 2 months (the PC used only for weekends during this time) with the boost regulator PCB on the adaptor cable becoming very hot to touch, resulting in the PC unable to power up. Notably the "5VSB" voltage rail on my ATX power supply was being pulled down to below 1V with the adaptor cable connected. The supplier was extremely helpful in sending a replacement adaptor cable within a week, however the replacement didn't last a day (same symptons of the boost regulat PCB becoming very hot to touch) and again no PC power up.So poor reliability in my particular setup and an alternative solution implemented by other means (still working as I type!!)

Works perfectly on HP EliteDesk g1 800
Id nearly given up after buying similar products from other sellers that didn’t boot up my pc but I can confirm this work withBlack 700W ATX PC Power Supply... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B082DGGNWG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_shareIn a g1 800 elitedesk with the above power supplyThanks again

Got me out of a hole.
I have a dell Optiplex 980 sff. The PSU died (my second one) and a new one is hard to come by. I sourced one in China but I have to wait for a couple of months for it to get here. I borrowed a big generic external PSU from a guy but the main 24 pin plug is the standard type (atx?), and my dell uses a mini (btx?) Connection. This little adapter has allowed me to get the PC up and running on a temporary basis. The cover is off and it looks like a school project, but it works. I can work away while I wait for the new PSU to get here.

Exactly what I needed!
I purchased this for a 750w PSU for my Dell, which I purchased and then found out it wouldn't work straight off the bat. This arrived a day earlier than stated! AND just worked! The reason I needed another PSU is that Dell in their 'wisdom' put in 290w PSU in Optiplex 9020 i7 machines, you would think that they would put in larger ones...My machine is an Optiplex 9020 i7, 32GB RAM, Nvidia 1060, 7 x HDDs (Yes SEVEN) the original PSU was not capable of running all of this hence the need for a larger supply, so I just went overkill to make sure, I am sure I am nowhere near the limits of the PSU but just in case!

Works for Dell T1700
Used this to install a replacement and more powerful power supply in a Dell T1700 that of course comes with a non standard power supply in it. Running beautifully.

Worked perfectly on my Acer desktop.
Seems well made. Allowed me to swap in a 500w ATX power supply for the 300w Acer 12 pin power supply. You will still need a 4 pin ATX connector from the power supply.

Great wire
Just because Levnovo has to be different, but, wire & 2 plugs.. it works. Nice & neat.

Worked
Works perfectly with my hp elite 800 g1. I put in a EVGA 650 PSU and used this adapter. Had to use metal washers to hold the PSU in the slot since hp computers aren't compatible with regular PSU but I got it to work. Turned a $100 old hp computer into a descent gaming machine. 32g ram. Gtx 1660 TI. 3tb SSD. I7 CPU. Gets 100 fps with high graphics in most games.

The cable works great with my Dell PowerEdge T20 Mini Server!
I wanted to upgrade the stock PSU in my Dell PowerEdge T20, since it comes with a 290W PSU. I found out that the Dell motherboard uses an 8 pin power connector not the standard 24 pin connector. That's when I came across this adapter.I ordered it a couple of weeks ago and just received it this morning. The first thing I did was disconnect the stock PSU cables from the motherboard and then removed it from the case. Then I installed a Seasonic Focus 650W semi-modular PSU. I made sure to attach the adapter to the 24 Pin connector on the PSU, and then plugged it into the 8 Pin connector on the motherboard. I also connected a 4 Pin power connector to the motherboard's fan connector.I made sure I removed the power cable for the SSD/SATA drives in the bottom bay from the motherboard, and just powered them directly through the PSU. Kind of a silly design configuration by Dell.So far everything is working great and I'm super happy with the results. My only knock is the slow shipping time. Two weeks is a long time to wait if you want to have everything up and running quickly.
