Bandai Namco - Digmon Device Virtual Pet Monster - Purple

Love having one of these again - reminds me of when I was little. There's lots to do - level up, train, and feed your pet!

I remember having this, and a Tamagotchi as a kid. I found out not only do they still make them but you can get them on Amazon. Like, honestly the price hasn't really changed either. I pretty firmly remember them coming out at like, $15. I got one for my partner and myself so our digital monsters (which spawned the digimon franchise) can interact with each other. I remember being in the elementary school cafeteria, someone on the other side, hunched over the accordion table with our heads practically touching as we watched them. Honestly I don't care, this is amazing and I'm so happy. Will probably by another from a different series.

I’m an adult now but I had some of the older generation digivices back in the late 90s. Long story short, this version is still fun and the Digimon are still adorable. The game play is simple but fun and it comes with a whole manual 🥳 to help with the small learning curve. I haven’t connected to another yet for a battle but I’ll update if I remember to.

I like how well it works. The battery life isn't great, but it doesn't have a way to turn it off so I don't expect it to last forever. Brings me back to my childhood and I very much enjoy this little toy. I got it super fast too. The color is vibrant and exactly the way it looks in the description picture.

This little digivice was my first Tamagotchi in years, and it reminds me SO much of the ones from my youth! I obviously haven't done any tag battles with my little digimon, who is an Agumon now, but I might end up getting a second one for the collection! If you're looking for a virtual pet that's low maintenance but still looking for the nostalgic factor for yourself or your kids, this is the one for you!

I ordered a couple of these in different colours. There are different versions of these devices, with about 5 versions (A, B, C, D, and E). Each has an exclusive digimon for that device, and for connecting certain versions to each other, but it isn't vital to have multiple. They're a bit quiet, much quieter than the re-released Tamagotchi Originals, but honestly, I kind of prefer that. There are only guides to show how to get every digimon on the Devices.

My son was excited to see that these were available. I had one of the original as a teenager and he grew up watching the show. It made for a perfect $20 gift from his sister.

Overall, its a nice collectable item.Pros and cons based on my opinion.Pros:- Has all the previous version digimons from the original vpets of 1997 in each one and also some new exclusives- Now you can raise two digimons instead of one.- If battery runs out, you can still continue from where you left off after replacing the battery.Cons:- I wish they had digivolution mechanism instead of basic evolution after they evolve to child stage from baby ii (instead of evolving to champion, ultimate etc., they should have made it like the other digivices like D2 and D3 where digivolution is temporary during battle after which they turn back to child stage)- I wish they had freezer mode like some of the pendulums vpets, so I can pause the game when I do not want to play.
