A Beautiful Looking Book, But Missing Something From an Older Edition We Have....
**Video and images shows a comparison of the colour version, detailed below; alongside this black and white edition.Soft powder touch dust cover hard back addition of this well known children's classic. This edition however, is the black and white addition. Well, everything except the inner cover which displays a full colour map.We have an older edition of the first half of this book, which doesn't contain 'The House on Pooh Corner'. The old edition, has an identical layout: same number of pages as the first half, same illustrations, sectioned in exactly the same way, ]] but it is printed on pure white paper with full colour illustrations, of the same illustrations from this black and white copy. I've included a video of both books alongside each other. It goes without saying that his book is more extensive, as it's two books in one:The Complete Stories of Winnie-the-Pooh; andThe House at Pooh Corner, which we hadn't read before. Our son has now completed the second half of the book and feels its written in the same fashion as the original set of stories and just as enlightening, amusing and full of precious Pooh moments that he loved when he was younger and had the earlier collection read to him.The turquoise and gold leaf cover over the hardback, blends well with the golden ribbon and ivory coloured old fashioned pages of this addition. Making it a perfectly giftable classic and one that looks more pricier than our colour illustrated edition mentioned above. For that reason 4 stars older edition of the first half of this book, which doesn't contain 'The House on Pooh Corner'.

A quality edition of a timeless classic
It’s hard to believe that this timeless classic is almost 100 years old! What child during this time hasn’t been captivated by the delightful tales of Christopher Robin, Pooh Bear and the rest of the gang? And what family wouldn’t love to have this combined edition of Winnie the Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner in its library? This is a lovely, dust-jacketed hardback, featuring all the original black and white drawings by E.H. Shepard. It mustn’t be confused with the colorful, modern picture books that most children will know as their first introduction to Winnie the Pooh. That said, there is a delightful, full color map of the Hundred Acre Wood on the inside front and back covers.Of course, being the original tales, the language and vocabulary are somewhat dated for today’s children. And this was exactly my concern when I tried reading this to my two grandsons (3 and 4). I also wasn’t sure that there would be enough visual stimuli to hold their attention. However, they were actually fascinated by the little drawings and had no difficulty recognizing all their favorite characters. It helped, too, that the chapters are very short — and each one a complete tale that can comfortably be read aloud in about 10 minutes.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this quality edition to other Amazon customers. Thanks for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful. Check out my Amazon profile page for more reviews of toddlers’ and pre-school books and puzzles and educational toys and games.

An underwhelming edition, IMO
I was really looking forward to this arriving, but it is not quite what I was expecting in terms of the cover, which I hoped might be more luxurious.Granted, it is dust-jacketed but has the price and ‘Printed in China’ (non-removable) on the back of it.ooOoo~ THE WORLD OF WINNIE-THE-POOH: THE COMPLETE STORIES OF WINNIE THE POOH and THE HOUSE AT POOH CORNER~ A. A. MILNE with decorations by E.H. SHEPARD~ EGMONT~ 2020‘Printed in Great Britain’ooOooMeasuring around 14.5 cm x 21.5 cm x 3 cm, the dust-jacketed publication ‘includes reproductions of E.H. Shepard’s original line drawings’ and comes complete with a smooth, shiny gold coloured fabric ribbon to keep your page.Covering a smooth hardboard cover in a green & lemon combination, the green coloured dust-jacket is embellished with gold coloured foil that follows through to the spine. The map on the inside cover pages, front & back, is in vibrant colour. The 336 matte finish pages within are good quality. The CHAPTERS are listed at the front for both (images below refer), with WINNIE-THE-POOH running from page 1~148 and THE HOUSE AT POOH CORNER from 149 ~336.[13 images attached ©️Egmont UK Limited/2020]

Beautiful Edition
This hardback edition of Winnie-the Pooh contains both - Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner. Both of these books are ten chapters long, and each chapter reads as an individual story, but they also build on each other to create the world of hundred-acre-wood. For example Kanga and Roo don't appear until Chapter 7 of Winnie-the-Pooh.This is a beautiful edition with a turquoise and gold dust cover, a gold ribbon bookmark, it has the original black and white line illustrations by E.H. Shepard and the map of the wood inside the cover is in colour. Although perhaps considered a children's story by many I think there is a lot of wisdom in the Pooh books and I chose this edition for myself.I think this would make a wonderful gift and is perhaps aimed more at being given to parents to read to their children rather than be given to younger children.Overall - a beautiful edition of a classic children's tale.
