Good clippers, shoddy holster.
Very frustrating, the included cork holster for the clipper is only about 1/2 the length of the clippers.Sloppy, should at least be able to put the clippers in the holster for travel or storage. Makes onequestion the quality control at the factory.

German quality? Not in this case... UPDATED
This broke after less than 1 year of light use. The pin came out and it's bent so I can't get it back in. I had a previous clipper that lasted 25 years! For $50.00, I expected it to last. Update: I contacted the seller and they are sending a replacement. I must have just received a bad one because the other size clippers I bought from them are older and are sharp and work perfectly. I am upgrading my review to five stars due to the stellar customer service.

excellent quality
High quality!! The ergonomics is very nice and the clipper is super sharp with effortless cutting. I'd buy again.

Well made but awkward to use
It's very sturdy and well made. It is nice and compact and comes with a lovely fitted case. But there are two design choices that make it awkward for me to use: 1) it's a bit thick so getting under the nail is difficult and 2) the lever curves up and the length means that I have to push down right at the end where it curves up - just uncomfortable and a little unstable that way. Maybe I'm just using it all wrong but I don't find this easy to use.

Super bad quality control
Keeping in mind that this little clipper costs over $42, it is quite simply a rip-off. One side if the jaws does not close completely, so that side does not give a crisp clip but an annoying squish. (See image where light is visible on one side while the other side is fully closed.) Solingen quality? Not at all. The leather case is so tight it pulls, and the tab sticks out making it look like junk. (See image where the snap ball does not line up with the detent.) The narrowest part of the case passes over the widest part of the clipper jaws, so that the corners of the clipper jaws stick out. I am quite shocked that the Solingen name has come to this. I never thought I would say you are better off with any cheapo brands rather than this Solingen.

Great Nail Clipper
I needed to replace my Wustoff nail clipper purchased 8 years ago. The edge was getting dull, making the clipper difficult to trim nails. The Solingen clipper looks exactly like the Wustoff clipper (no longer made), so I purchased it, and glad I did. The stainless steel edge is sharp, the clipper is comfortable to use to trim my nails on my hand and nails on my toes, even with my arthritic hands. The Solingen clipper is pricey, but worth it for a quality, well-made nail clipper. The clipper fits in the leather holder with the cutting edge up, so you need to be very careful when removing it from the holder.

Not suitable for thick or curved toenails
I ordered the large version to use for toenails. Unfortunately the jaw opening is so narrow there is no way to use it for toes. It would work fine for fingernails. If you have thick, curved toenails this won’t work. I think I will buy a Mehaz toenail clipper.
