The Infinity War: Aftermath

Companion Volume for the Infinity War
Collecting: Infinity Watch #11-17----- Silver Surfer/Warlock: Resurrection #1-4----- Quasar #41-43----- (selections) Marvel Comics Presents #112----- (selections) Marvel Holiday Special #2----- (selections) Marvel Swimsuit Special #2Jim Starlin's original "Infinity Trilogy" is the stuff of comic book legend. Beginning with Infinity Gauntlet Omnibus and continuing with Infinity War (to which this volume is the long-awaited companion) and concluding with Infinity Crusade, Vol. 1 and Infinity Crusade, Vol. 2 , the "Infinity Trilogy" explores the cosmic edges of the Marvel Universe.Infinity War Aftermath is a largely successful companion volume to the Infinity War event. Between a massive battle between Hulk and Drax, plenty of tension between Silver Surfer and Adam Warlock, and a little comic relief from Pip the story circles the quest to resurrect Shalla-Bal (Silver Surfer's lost love) with the precarious security of the infinity gems also in question. As is the case with Starlin's other "Infinity" titles the true center is an almost philosophical quest for the Universal power, omnipotence, the infinite. Power beyond good or evil, stronger than death... it is in short a comic-form quest for and interpretation of godhood.Infinity War Aftermath was originally published in magazine form in the early 1990s. Despite the passage of time, the book reads well. Pip made this reader chuckle several times, effectively grounding a series that travels through time, space, and otherworldly dimensions rather quickly. I can recommend this book to fans of the cosmic side of Marvel's books.

Mostly Useless If You Have Infinity War and Infinity Watch Vol 1
Infinity War Aftermath is unfortunately a rather pointless collection when you consider nearly half of the comics included in it are issues of Infinity Watch that you can read in Infinity Watch Vol 1, a Holiday special about Thanos and Gamora that's in the Infinity War main volume, and then a series of Quasar and Silver Surfer stories that barely tie in with Infinity War. The Silver Surfer story covers the follow up to a previous story arc and just involves Warlock gaining the Surfer's future help. The Quasar story makes little sense without reading previous Quasar comics and just answers the question of what happened to him after his seeming death in Infinity War. There is also a lame Pip special and bits from a Pip narrated swimsuit special that is just bizarre and way too 90's.

It's always nice to read on what happened to characters after big events.

This is an ok compilation. Only really necessary if you are really into the Infinity War/Crusade and want a little more follow up to the characters such as Warlock and his followers.

It wasnt bad. Decent anyways
Ok. I somehow accidently ordered this. No idea how i managed it. But i decided to keep it anyway and read it. Since i read infinity gauntlet and war. I figured why not read the aftermath. If nothing else, i was curious how warlock got out of his coma. Basically its divided it into 3 arcs. The first arc is 6 issues of warlock and the infinity watch. It covers how warlock woke up and what the other onfinty watch.members were up to. It wasnt bad. Decent anyways. Next was the silver surfer/infinty watch mini series. Basically they team up to ressurect silver surfers gf. I actually liked this quite a bit. The warlock/mephisto battle was awesome. Then after this we get several issues of quasar. Which quite frankly i did not like. I read the first couple issues of that storyline. Stopped reading. Then remembered i never finished it a week later. Its that bad and unforgetable. But the collection as whole? Its decent.
