Much better than the strips. I had a hard time with the strips. The PH colors were all too similar. With this kit, I can accurately visually gauge my PH level in my hot tub.

Great way to test my spa water

The kit indicated one day that my pH and chlorine will both high. I took a sample the same day to a local pool supply company, and when they tested it they told me the exact opposite - that my pH and chlorine were both very very low.It's also very hard to distinguish between the colors on the test, e.g., the low chlorine color looks just a shade or two lighter than a high chlorine color. Bummed. :(

It was cheap. I bought this as it was the only test kit available for next day. The chlorine scale is very hard to read when testing the water in my hot tub. .

We have used this, or a similar test kit with our hot tube for over ten years. It will also work with pools.The negative reviews are probably the result of poor instructions, or not reading them carefully.FIRSTBe sure to empty, rinse and refill the the plastic sample holder before each use. A quick flick will leave space at the top of each sample 'test tube' for a single drop of reagent from the dropper bottles.SECONDThe yellow cap on the 'OTO' bottle matches the color on the right side. Add two drops to the 'test tube'. The exact size of drops is not critical. The red cap on the 'Phenol Red' dropper matches the color on the left side. The size of drops is not critical.THIRDCover the tops of both tubes with the supplied caps, or use your fingers that have been rinsed in the test water, and invert the tubes, several times. Make sure there is an air bubble to help with the mixing.FOURTHWait several minutes for the colors to develop.Compare the intensity of the yellow color of right 'test tube' with the yellow intensity of the yellow color on the right. The level of Chlorine or Bromine should be within the range marked 'IDEAL'.Compare the color (pink through yellow) of the 'test tube' on the left with the colors on the left side. An orange color is 'an IDEAL' pH reading.Consult with your dealer/supplier which chemicals to use to adjust the pH or chlorine.Always wear eye protection, and gloves when adding chemicals.Adjust the chlorine level (yellow color), and pH (yellow through pink) by adding chemicals. Your dealer can supply you with these chemicals.

Works great!!! I love being able to check the pool levels as many times as I please, without worrying about running outta strips. Comes with the cute lil case. Very simple to use...instructions are printed on the inside of the box as well. Great product...for a great price:)

Good product, good price. Used for our salt water hot tub.

Not sure about the accuracy, but it is working well for my Jacuzzi. Good little kit for the money.

The product did not hold up. Colours and numbers faded. No longer useable
