Honeycomb Metal Headboard and Aura Gold Metal Platform Bed (Gold, Queen)

I was looking for a platform bed. I'd looked at wood ones, but they all seemed to look cheap, except the extremely expensive high end beds. This is just for a guest room, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money, but I didn't want it to look cheap, either.Quality: I'm pretty impressed with the quality of the metal. It isn't flimsy, or thin looking. The legs, sides, and headboard are a nice thick metal. The metal isn't pliable and it isn't super heavy, or difficult to lift. I find that weight to be perfect. The bed is sturdy and doesn't shake, or wobble. Also, the color is superb. I love the brushed silvery gold look. It's well done and doesn't look "spray painted on." The quality is that of a much more expensive bed frame.Design: The bed is brushed in a beautiful color. It is a neutral and can go in just about any room. If you're scared to match wood colors, then this is a perfect choice, because it will go with anything. The bed is a platform bed, which is only about shoebox height off the ground. If you're interested in a trundle, or under bed baskets this doesn't leave a lot of clearance. The slats don't feel super heavy weight. I'm not sure how much weight this bed is rated for, but as long as it isn't intended for an abnormally heavy person, I doubt it'd be a problem. Some other beds I looked at reviewers complained about the slats being uneven and being able to feel them through a mattress. These slats fit nicely and I can't feel them through the 8" mattress I put on the bed. The bed doesn't creak when moving either.Price: Wayfair was having a sale on this bed and so was Overstock.com. Both places sell the bed without the headboard and with. The price of the bed without the headboard on sale was appx $260 and with was $350. Of course, I wanted to price it out more, so I looked this up on Amazon and found it being offered cheaper WITH the headboard than the other places (which usually are well priced retailers anyway) were offering it without the headboard.Assembly: The bed is easy to assemble. Unlike my husband, I'm not mechanically inclined. I put it together by myself (as I was too impatient to have him do it). It took me about an hour to put together the headboard and frame (about 1/2 hr each). This is without any rushing. All of the necessary pieces are provided for assembly, so you don't need any tools.The instructions were so simple that you probably would be able to put it together without them. There are very few steps involved. The frame is four major pieces (top, bottom, and 2 sides). You just have to slide them together and insert the screws/washers. There are several slats that you insert into plastic cups and set down on the frame. The headboard comes in 3 pieces (2 legs and the board itself). The legs just screw into the head piece. Then that screws into the frame.It's very easy and one petite, non-mechanically inclined woman like myself can do it without assistance :)Summary:Pros:Excellent quality (durability & aesthetics)Easy to assemble (not a lot of pieces)Amazing price (much higher quality than the price indicates)Slats fit evenly & hold mattress evenlyCons:Unsure if slats would be thick enough for a very heavy person (guessing maybe, 300 lbs + with a heavy mattress might be a concern).Not a lot of underbed clearance (if you want a trundle, or taller boxes beneath the bed).

I love this bed!! It came in 3 large heavy packages, arrived on time and came with all the hardware needed to put it together. I put it together without instructions (pretty easy). I thought it didnt come with instructions I ended up finding them after I had finished it, so check the boxes good for the paper instructions. The color finish of the bed is so goregous in person its not solid gold its prettier. My mattress is a 9 1/2 inch depth (purple mattress) and it fits perfect so that there is not a gap between the top of the mattress and the bottom of the headboard. Its very sturdy and the headboard doesnt rattle. Its beautiful and worth the money.

Bed is beautiful in person. It came with all the supplies and pieces. I ordered it cyber Monday night and received it Wednesday morning with standard shipping! I was amazed at how fast it arrived. My dad put it together for me and he said it was on easier side. Good quality materials. The bed is made so you don’t have to use a box spring but I had a new one so I used it and it’s on the high side but I like that. Very comfortable and sturdy and there is enough space underneath for under the bed storage but not much but it’s no big deal for me. I would recommend and buy again.

This bed is beautiful! It was just was I looking for. It's sturdy and easy to put together. A box spring Is not needed. It's low to the ground and the head board comes up pretty high which is awesome. I would definitely recommend this bed

The bed and headboard arrive in 3 fairly sizeable boxes. UPS just left them in my driveway at the side of the house without even ringing the doorbell (and I was home!), but that's hardly Amazon's fault. I was able to get most of them inside easily, but for the box containing most of the frame I had to take the pieces out of the box and bring them in one by one. I'm a 5'2" tall woman, so getting everything up to the 2nd floor was a challenge, but I managed and put the bed together myself in a couple of hours without much trouble. There was an area where I couldn't get the frame pieces together quite as flush as they probably were meant to slide together and that did make it so at one corner the tops of the frame don't line up perfectly. But it's a cosmetic issue more than anything else and I can't even see it with the mattress on the frame. It's very sturdy and extremely quiet unless you deliberately rattle the headboard. I read some concerns with the slats, but they seem fine to me. It is low to the floor, but I like that and it's fairly typical of these platform frames without need of a box spring. The color is just beautiful. As many of the reviews I read mentioned, it's not a gaudy gold, but gold brushed over a silver metal. My dressers and nightstand are white and oak with old wood/brass knobs and pulls and they look nice together. But I'm sure when I eventually replace that portion of my bedroom set as well I'll have no trouble matching any new pieces with this bed. I doubt I could find a platform bed of this quality elsewhere for this good a price. I was intending to buy it from Overstock, but I'm glad I searched for it here first as I saved myself a bit more.

We bought this bed for my daughter's room and put it together this weekend. It is a solid, heavy bed for our 5'9" 21-year-old who likes to plop down on the bed in a less than graceful manner. It's pretty and glam... just perfect for our needs. It was very easy to put together but do yourself a favor and use a real wrench!

It took some elbow grease to put this bed together and I did it by myself. It is a better piece of furniture compare to IKEA. All the parts are metal and there are no flimsy wooden pegs. I used a regular wrench instead of the one that came with the parts because it was easier to use. The color looked darker than the picture, but still pretty. I have had a week's worth of good night sleeps on this bed before I wrote this review.
