Q: where are they made and where are they manufactured?

These are a chinese rip-off of a highly regarded Portuguese brand... the gold set is $700+, not $50 hahaha.

Q: Are they comfortable to hold? Some round stem flatware looks great but feels awkward.

Yes and I gave a set as Gift and the Other liked it too.
