Making a Difference: An Inspirational Book About Kids Changing the World!

You are never too young to make a difference! This was the message flooding the pages of this beautiful book. The first of a 7 book series, this book highlighted 12 inspiring kids making a real difference to their communities and the world. Full of beautiful illustrations, fun facts and information on how kids at home can join in and make a difference too, this book is a must-have for any personal library. With everything going on in the world, it’s wonderful to have a book that highlights all the good being done on a daily basis. We need more books like this one, so I’m glad it’s the first of more to come in this series!

This book is so awesome! I love all of the details in this book: A map where the child is from, both an actual photo and illustration of the child along with the story, the fun facts list and the "How you can become a Change Maker" section and finally, I love the advice that the kids give. I looked forward to reading each story. I love how it covers so many different change makers and so many different ways that they are making change. I think this is a very fun book to learn both inspirational and useful information.

So many times, kids are asked to name their role models and we always point them to adults. That sends the message that kids need to wait to become adults before they can start having a positive impact on their world. But no longer! This book is full of amazing kids doing amazing things right now! My 11 yo says these stories are educational, inspiring, and most importantly, relatable. I can't wait for the rest of the books in the series.

Perfect book for a young reader.

The short essays are presented and show a new generation of the young wanting and making way for a better future for all on Earth. They inspire their own generation as well as shame the adults!

Well this series is hands down what kids need to read today. These kids are inspiring. Some of them are doing amazing hard to imagine things to make a difference and others are doing things that are much smaller but still a huge impact. Your kids don’t have to do the most elaborate thing to make a difference. It can be small things. My kids liked reading the first three books in this series. They enjoyed seeing where these kids lived. Their ideas for change. Their ideas to improve lives around them. It sparked many conversations of what we can do as a family to make a difference. We plan to buy more as they are published.

Every once in a while you hear about a child making a difference. It’s easy to think of that one child being an outlier, a protege unlike other children. But what Stacy Bauer has done here- compiling so many of them together in one place- it paints a different picture. When read together, diverse collage of young hope-bringers show young readers that anyone can be a change maker, regardless of their location, race, age or ability. Changing the world is not an unattainable goal! By the time you are done reading this book, you’ll not only feel inspired, you’ll have a long roster of clear steps you can take to help make the world a better place. This book is an obvious choice for a classroom, but don’t discount its value for adults as well. Children are not the only ones who need to listen to the powerful voices of the next generation.

It's such a lovely idea: stories about children that have overcome difficulties or gone out of their to do exceptional things. Beautifully executed, with fabulous illustrations and wonderful spreads, this book is a treasure.

What a great first book in the Young Change Makers series. I really enjoyed reading about the different young people and their ideas and achievements. Looking forward to sharing it with my students. The diversity of the ideas and youngsters as well as the inclusive nature of the book means it will appeal to everyone. Great illustrations, too. Can't wait for the rest of the series.

Making a Difference is an inspiring book for young children and adolescents alike. True stories of children around the world doing wonderful things to ignite thoughts of how you too could change the world.
