Great stuff!
Bought this to personalize some cutting boards I’m giving as gifts to my friends at our Christmas party this year. I made sure to read a lot if the reviews before using so I would know what mistakes to avoid.I’ll start with the value. Yes, I know the jar is small so it feels that you are not getting a lot for your money, but like so many others have said, a little really does go a long way. Seriously, this little jar will last a long time!I first did a test burn on a light piece of raw craft wood and was impressed how nicely it burned. Next, I was ready for the real thing. It’s important to use a good stencil or even better, a silk screen so that you can squeegee off any excess (very important). Once the paste was applied, I removed my screen, then waited about 10 minutes to allow the paste to dry a bit. After a little trial/error, I came to the conclusion that you get a better result if you let it dry a bit before putting the heat gun to it. The reason being is that it slightly reduces the amount of time needed with the heat gun. The longer you use the heat gun, the more you risk darkening the area around your intended torch paste area. When burning, I kept my heat gun a couple inches from the wood surface. This takes some patience. After about 5 minutes or so, I became frustrated as I was not seeing any results. I think the heat was still drying the paste and once it’s dry is when it starts to darken. The cutting boards I used were a darker wood. I would recommend a lighter wood for best results. It’s too late now, but if I could, I would have used a bamboo cutting board

Obsessed!!
This was my first time wood burning anything. Besides being a slight bit of a pyro when sitting next to a camp fire. I made a stencil on my Cricut and had this round piece of wood I was wanting to do something with. The stencil fit perfectly and so the project started.I used a little sponge applicator to apply the Torch Paste but a very very small amount. I used a silicone squeegee to spread it ever Lu over the stencil. It was a very thin layer, no buildup. I let dry for 2 min and removed stencil. The heat gun started turning the paste a white color and then it started burning. A slight smell so I stopped and put on a mask just in case. The color started darkening and I couldn’t stop. I moved the gun around smoothly. Not very fast. Once I started seeing how fast the paste would darken I moved my gun accordingly. It came out perfect. Now I’m obsessed and monogramming all my cutting boards. Perfect product and so easy to use. Small container but you use so little it’s gonna last. Be sure to use a silicone squeegee. It is a must for stencils.

Better than a torch pen
I’ve tried the torch pen before, but that always bleeds. This works great! The paste isn’t too thick, it’s thin enough to smooth evenly. Will be rebuying when I run out.

Ensure only a very thin coat remains before burning
This was my first venture into wood burning paste.I love that the application is better controlled unlike wood burning pens that bleed out to surrounding areas even when masked off at times. This goes where you put it and stays there.I followed the directions on each use, but feel they should stress "thin" coat remaining. If the amount left on the piece is too thick, I have found that it takes a much higher heat setting to even get the wood to start burning. This intern causes other blemishes. I have had dry wood somehow produce water/sap bubbling up from the amount of heat I had to apply to get the paste to burn the wood.I have revised my method to ensure I get ALL excess paste off the piece prior to removing my stencil. This has had mixed results. It works very well on some items and then on others i am forced to crank up the heat gun to get it to burn. This also browns the surrounding area unintentionally.I have tried stirring the paste to ensure it was all mixed well. That did not seem to have any bearing on the results as well.I still like the paste as when it turns out, it is so much nicer looking than the pens.If anyone has any feedback on this issue, I would be grateful.

Really good and easy…
This worked shockingly well. Below is my first attempt and I went for it. I did two stencils - first with the stripes and then second with the whole tiger outline. Goal was to make the whole thing pop and have two different shades. I think i could have hit the stripes more to darken them better but for a quick test (15 minutes) - this is a ridiculously good result. Very impressed with the level of detail - the tiger is about 3” tall for scale and it darkened exactly where i wanted and nowhere else.

A little good a LONG way!
This paste works perfectly and does exactly what it says it does. The jar and amount seems small but you really don’t have to use much at all!

Very easy to work with
I decided to pick this up to make personalized wooden coasters for my book club last year. It seemed a little expensive since the tub is quite small but I think I used less than 1% of the contents of the little tub to make 20+ coasters so on a per project basis, it's quite affordable. It was super easy to work with, too. A VERY thin layer of product is all that is needed so even a large design will not use a significant amount. It took a little trial and error to figure out how best to get the burn level desired but the key is to keep the heat gun moving so you don't inadvertently scorch any of the wood surrounding your design. I finished my coasters with a nice stain and a couple coats of varnish and they were a hit with my book club!

Somewhat works
Somewhat works. I may just need a hotter heat gun but even then not a very deep burn and easily comes of with just a few passes of sand paper. Doesn’t seem to be what I was hoping for.
