Works perfectly on a Carplay Head with Android Auto phone. Even on a Retro Win CE CRV 2015 Leather
I'm very pleased with this device. I got 4.0 because it is designed specifically for a heads up display with the option of having either an android or apple phone. Now even with my CRV 2015 Leather and official updated head software (you have to update it yourself - search around for it ) to Ver 1.E201.58 - adds Apple carplay, I now have a wireless android auto hud. Simply amazing. These devices are only ranked for 2016 hud and above but with the updated hud firmware... here I am enjoying it. The touch display works fine. This is even better than my 2019 Forester with Android Auto because its wired only. Maybe I should get another CarlinKit to get myself wireless android auto in that car too. Simply amazing because this CRV 2015 LE head is actually Windows CE / Mobile OS yet here it is sporting Android 12 Android auto. Wonderful.I didn't update the firmware for the carlinkit because it workes out of the box. Connection happens quicker than my forester 2019 wired hud. I've never had a failed connection in over a month. Its seems to have fixed the low volume MIC problem when using the android auto vs the basic HUD bluetooth MIC that these huds are notorious for .Bravo.

2023 device doesn't work in 2023 car - don't waste your time or money
Bought this for my 2023 Porsche Macan, shame on me - should have read the Porsche owner forums for reviews before picking this up. First pass, the BT pairing jammed up to the point I had to blow away my BT saved devices on the phone. Second pass, got connected but had about the upper-left 2/3 of the screen only, and touch interactions are offset by ~1cm to the right and down - so useless. Tried to reach out to Carlinkit support, but the only way is to use the on-device "backstage" website, which doesn't have internet access, so you have to flip-flop between on-device wifi and real wifi to send a customer support ticket - and I'm still not sure it ever went out. I supposed the unanswered question queue on here should have been a clue. Also of note - ever since I hooked this device up to my PCM, the system appears to boot slowly and gets stuck in certain modes from time to time (e.g. surround camera hangs for up to 30s after I've shifted from R to D) so buyer beware.

CPC200-CP2A: Has some opaque settings options and manual, but I think I have it figured out.
Like a LOT of folks I was using this thing fine for a while and I think I got the issue isolated. For 5min I sat there and reproduced the issue.I have a Galaxy S10+. I've been experiencing audio skip and stutter for weeks. Sometimes it'll run fine for a while other times it's right as I get in the car. Playing with it again I thought I'd try just toggling various things on/off. Started with the Carlinkits GPS and Audio delay settings, nothing. On the phone I started with the wifi. It acted odd when loading up the scan screen. So I started turning off advanced settings effecting scanning and none of that worked. I turned off the gps and automatically music played flawlessly, but this kills maps. I went looking at the gps settings switched off the wifi/bluetooth scanning options which appeared to do nothing. The option that eliminated the problem was turning off Location Accuracy. (Settings >Location>Location Services>Google Location Accuracy <off>)Even with the wifi/bt scanning disabled the Google Location settings take precedence.I'll see if the gps becomes unusable on my drive into work tomorrow, but now I can listen to my podcasts without having to rewind every 10sec. Idk if its just a software issue on the Carlin or just an Android related glitch, but I don't think its the Carlins fault. What I am docking a star for is this thing needs a decent manual and a better settings page. Options have no descriptions and each change has to be done individually. Updating firmware is a breeze, so I'll give them that. Love that they host the files and allow you to d/l straight from the settings page without absolutely having to go download a zip folder and manually updating.

Good product, not 100%
I've used it in a couple different vehicles to add wireless Carplay and it works and is quite nice. Setup is straightforward and it typically connects pretty quickly. There are some downsides.-Android Auto functionality emulates Carplay on the car, which might be cool in some situations and might be an issue in others-Android Auto functionality doesn't actually work with our Galaxy S21 (the only Android I've tested it with)-Sensitive to heat. On hot days, I can't leave it in the center console-Range is very limited. I have to move it around depending on whether my phone is in my pocket or on the console-Connection time is inconsistent. Sometimes it's quite quick (like 10 seconds), sometimes it's more like 30 seconds-Adds some latency but is surprisingly good. If it overheats or is more than a few inches away, latency can get very very bad (it can lag several seconds or even MINUTES behind and you won't have any idea until you touch the screen)

Outstanding support!
How a retailer handles a problem tells the most about their credibility. I purchased a 2023 CarlinKit 4.0 Wireless Adapter and it would not connect on my 2023 Subaru Forester, so I contacted the seller through the Amazon interface. The tech support was not able to solve the problem on the first try nor the next 2, so I decided to return it. Because they were very responsive with suggestions, usually the same day and exhibited a sincere attempt to solve the problem, I elected to exchange the product for the same one. Incidentally the price had gone down during this time. I received the unit the next day, followed the instructions, and it worked without a hitch and has been performing flawlessly for about a week. Note that it takes about 15-20 seconds to connect each time I get in the car, but that is no big deal. Discussing this price change CarlinKit agreed to refund me $30. I recommend the product and the company without hesitation. By the way, I used velcro to attach the unit to the top, inside the dashboard pocket where the USB plug is located (see photo).

Works okay but will randomly disconnect or never boot up
Half the time it doesn’t work or randomly disconnects, tried updating software and rolling back. Wouldn’t recommend.
