An Exceptional Product
I seldom write reviews, but I wanted to write something about this pair of shoes from Vivobarefoot, because I felt they deserved some earnest praise. I have worn them as my only pair of shoes for work over the past two and a half years. In that time, I had them on my feet five days a week, eight to twelve hours per day, at the office, on the subway, and everywhere in between. I also wore them on weekends for semi-formal occasions. They have held up incredibly well, and they look just about as good today as on the day I first bought them.I turned to these shoes, because I was experiencing pain between my toes, and also at foremost joint of my big toe, and I was struggling to find a pair of dress shoes that didn't exacerbate the problem. However, I noticed that the pain was greatly diminished when I walked around barefoot, and became much worse when wearing dress shoes. I tried all kinds of dress shoes. Nothing seemed to solve the problem. Ultimately, I resolved to find something that came as close to being barefoot as possible while nevertheless remaining presentable at work. These shoes did the trick. They were wonderful to wear to and from the office. I felt like I was wearing slippers all the time; total and complete comfort. I loved the feel of walking on carpet or pavement or the transition from one to the other. For a long time, I was self conscious that they were too wide, especially because men's shoe fashion a couple of years ago was all about extremely narrow toe boxes (which, frankly, is an asinine fashion). But most people never noticed them and never gave them a second glance. They are not the height of fashion, but they allowed my feet to function as feet should, and my foot pain has completely vanished.I should note that these shoes are very minimalist with only a few millimeters of material between the foot and the ground. At first when walking around on pavement, I found that my heels felt bruised. But over time my heels toughened up, and now I find that walking on pavement is totally comfortable and there is absolutely no need for extra padding. These are just a great shoe. Never going back to traditional dress shoes.

Excellent Minimalist Shoes for the Business Casual Office Dweller
I was really pleasantly surprised with these shoes.I also have a pair of the Lem's nine2five in mocha, and I prefer these to them several ways.1) First and foremost, the barefoot feel of these are far superior to the nine2five.I did not think that I would like the cork insole, but I have grown to really like it. I did not have the problem reported by some reviews of the insole not fitting the shoe, so it looks like this may have been a manufacturing issue that has since been resolved. The minimal insole, and outsole really give a good balance between protection and ground feel.2) Nice looks. After giving the shoes an initial polish, they look nice. I did not give them a full shine, I may try doing this later on when I have a little more time, but the leather upper is very nice and flexible. Overall an attractive and well made shoe. I thought the nine2five would win out here, but they have issues with wrinkling of the leather at a flex point on the shoe that detracts from the look of the shoes.3) Comfort and fit. In addition to having much thinner of a sole, the shape and fit of the shoes seem much better in the RA II than the Lems nine2five. Especially in the heel, which is usually a problem area for me. I did get a little rubbing in the heel initially the the Ra, but breaking in the leather there has helped with this tremendously. The leather is pretty stiff there, but is flexible and breaking it in helps a lot.One last thing to note. I purchased the black version, and the logo on the heel is solid black stamped in the leather. It is not painted white and red as shown in the photo. I like it this way much better as it is less obtrusive.

Great shoes! I'm sold on minimal shoes. LOVE my Vivobarefoots!
This is my first pair of minimalist shoes. I've had them for about a month. I've worn them around the house, outside on our farm, to the office, and even on a 2 mile hike. So far I love them. My feet have certainly been tired at times, but not sore or anything. I love being able to feel the ground beneath me. They're a little harder to put on than my other shoes, but to be fair, most of what I've worn in the past has been slip ons. The light weight of the shoes is great. Plenty of toe-room is great. At first, when you glance down the "shape" of the toe part of the shoe is different, but when you realize how much room you have to wiggle your toes, not only does it make sense, but now I like it.I'll definitely be getting another pair soon so that I can have multiple options. These are nice enough to wear to church on Sunday morning (I wear a button down and khakis, not a suit) or out and about. They worked fine for a hike out in the woods, but I'd rather have a pair specifically for that. Don't want to get my nice pair dirty. The fit was the same as my regular shoe size.

Good Shoe for Work
I've had these since April 2016 and have literally worn them every day (other than snowy days). My first "barefoot" shoe. I had several Nunn Bushes before. They weren't lasting very long and wanted to try something new. So I took a chance and paid a little more than I wanted for these shoes. I have to say I have been very impressed. I read some quality complaints but mine are holding up fine. I will say it takes a few days of pain before the leather is broken in and also get used to feeling more when you step on stuff. I think the day after I got them I walked a few miles and amazingly my feet didn't hurt. They scuff really easily and get lots of creases quick but they are so comfortable I don't mind. My feet haven't gotten wet. They have survived goat heads (thorns), sharp rocks, glass, etc. (I haven't gone out of my way to try to puncture the sole and hurt my foot).Pros:- Comfortable- Love the wide space for toes- Can get away with it in an Office since it looks business shoeish- Long lasting, the sole doesn't wear out as quick as other shoes- Can survive sharp objectsCons:- They don't stay nice looking too long and get scuffed up easily- expensive

Foot-shaped shoes
I do find the "barefoot" idea interesting, but really I went for these shoes because they're foot-shaped. That shouldn't be a rare thing after thousands of years of cobbling, but most modern shoe manufacturers seem to think toes exist to be squeezed. Vivo prefers to leave toes alone and squeeze customers' wallets instead - and to be fair, if some of that price is going on sustainable materials and actually paying the people who make the things, it's not a bad amount to pay. These are a good fit, very comfortable and they look good with a suit. Unlike my Primus Trails, they fit with the insoles left in. That's probably because they have thinner insoles, but I like the feel of the cork and I'm glad to be able to use it. The leather is thin but looks OK.There is a logo stamped on the back and a name on the top of the tongue, which is not ideal for formal wear but they're hardly noticeable (and, let's face it, probably not intended to be all that formal) so not really a problem.

Comodissime
