There are a lot of hot tub scum absorbers on the market and most of the are very small and disposable. I was doing without as I refused to use disposable products like these. I was happy to come across this set. You get two very large reusable scum absorbers that look like cute turtles. These clean up easily by throwing them in the washer and air drying. Having two also means you have a clean one ready to go when the one in use has done it's job. I like to leave mine free floating, but each turtle comes with a suction cup to attach any where you like in your hot tub. My hot tub is actually small, only 500 gallons and a triangle shape. Occasionally I will use the suction cup to keep the turtle from floating around when it's more than just me in the tub. I am impressed with these turtles. They do a great job and are holding up really well. I imagine these will last for years.

At first, I thought these were overpriced, but after using them, nothing could be further from the truth.Over the years I have used scum absorbers in my hot tub with questionable success. I always thought they were too small to be of much use. These, on the other hand, are not small and have a lot of surface area.I always seem to have issues with a bit of excess foaming in my hot tub. Since putting one of these in the water I have noticed the surface is much cleaner and clearer without any excess bubbles and foaming. The lanyard and the suction cup allow me to place the turtle anywhere in the hot tub and not worry about it floating all over the place. The scum absorbers I used in the past always said to occasionally squeeze them out to get the oils and contaminants out, but I always wondered if simply squeezing the absorber was doing anything. This absorber actually says to machine wash, which makes much more sense. With two, I can wash one, let it fully dry, and use the other one until it’s time to wash that one.So far, this scum absorber has really made a noticeable difference in the quality of the water in my spa. When you add the fact that it’s a big cute turtle, then this thing is awesome.

These scum sponges work great! Just toss them after you get out of the hottub and they do their job. Easy to wash and reuse. Large enough or any tub. 10/10

Our Sundance hot tub is almost 18 years old and still going strong. We are vigilant about maintenance, but are always looking for a quicker, easier way to keep the water clean. On a sunny morning you can sometimes see a thin film on the water. One of these turtles has only been in place 24 hours but it is doing a great job of attracting and snagging that filmy layer. I have to admit, I didn't expect them to be so large but that's okay, this way I'll use just one at a time and prolong their life. As a bonus, they are almost exactly the same color as our tub interior, giving it a custom look. Great purchase!

- did not note the size so when they showed up was like WOW, those are huge.- so far does what it says and no issues and noticed less scum in the tub- nice that it came with two of them one for each tub- definitely a nice thing to have to help keep things cleaner- certainly seem worth it and happy with these

It’s big and should do the job in our swim spa, but I am super disappointed in the suction cup. It’s all mangled and only half of it touches the surface. Hoping that the company can send us a replacement suction cup instead of having to return the whole thing.
