i wish there was a side zip version and an all black with no orange version
i just got them and started using them. the footbox was really important. i have narrow feets but i like to spread my toes out so i got the 9.5 wide. i use semi thick socks and its still a bit long. im going to assume the boot is true to size because my feet is 9.0 US and theres still a lot of room in front of it. go true to size and order wide. your toes will love it.as im walking around, my lower shin hits the top of the boot. that can be good or bad depending on how you see it. it lets me know that i can step in deep water but then just walking around will be annoying as it will hit it often.i wish they made these boots in all black and not have all that orange on there. my work wants all black so im hoping that i can get away with the amount of orange there is. in the pictures, all that orange you see is darker than what you see in real life. its a bit bright so maybe ill color it with a permenant marker.the toe cap is hella stiff and strong. I feel like i can hammer something with it or kick wood and not feel a thing. because these are new, the cushion is nice but i would recommend getting feet cushions that are more thicker, especially if you work in construction or work that requires safety boots. the reason being is that foam will naturally compress with time so you're going to need to change it out.another thing i wish which is possible because other boots can do the same is to have a side zip and being waterproof at the same time. im not a fan of tying my shoes because in my line of work, if there is an emergency, you have to rush to put on your boots and then run to it. if there was a side zip, it would be awesome. once you go side zip, you never want to use any other style of boots. trust me on that one.

Runs large
They run a little big. Surprised i didn't see more folks say that. Going to try out the insoles because i heard they take a half size off because of their size. If not I'll send them back for a half size smaller. But beware they do run large.

Comfort fit.
These were bought for my grandson who works with a local company during the summer's to learn electrical work. He has a wide foot and said these were the most comfortable work boots he's ever worn. We'll worth the price because they fit so well.

Well built, but not perfect
Been buying these for years because of a spine issue that translates to my gait. The anti fatigue is well made and lasts the life of the boot no question. They are a little poor fitting out of the box, but like most utility based Tim's as opposed to fashionable, they form to your step and foot well in a rather short period of time. The water resistance only lasts maybe a 1/4 of the life, but they take treatment well. I've used 3 different kinds of waterproofing over the years and each one had remained waterproof for the season. They usually give me up to 2 years of stable wear before succumbing to my poor step and wearing unevenly. I use them in general contracting and they frequently eat concrete. Main advice I can give is if you use near concrete dust, clean at minimum weekly. It will destroy almost every part minus the sole. Also they do a good job on the anti microbial end. My sneakers I barely wear have more odor. Unlike a lot of things they seem to stick to the original design of these with minor updates to colors and what not. Which should go to tell they are well designed. Maybe not for 200. But with the first pair being 180 back in 2012, I'm not mad about it.

*Unacceptable failure at only 9 months!
I have had strictly work Timberland boots for years and have had good luck with the quality. *until this most recent pair. I have had multiple pairs of these exact same boots and they have seemed to hold up pretty well. This pair has been not so great. As you can see from the pictures there has been an absolute failure to the structure of this boot. Not only that but this particular pair has been very uncomfortable since day 1. I typically don’t kind a little bit of discomfort at first as I understand boots need to break in. But these have never really seemed to get comfortable. I don’t know what changed with these boots as far as manufacturing etc. but these are quite possibly one of the worst pairs of boots I’ve ever had and definitely the worst pair of timberlands I’ve ever had.I really hope that someone from the seller or timberland reads this and does something to correct it for me.Like I said, I’ve been a lifetime timberland supporter, but this is totally unacceptable to me. I mean 9 months out of a $200 pair of boots!!!? I wear these boots everyday and typically expect to get atleast a year out of them, which in all honesty is not good enough either. But 9 months? And just for reference, I wear them everyday, but not on a construction site and they don’t get abused at all. I take extremely good care of my boots. I wear them daily and they see light work everyday, but typically only heavy work on the weekends.Whatever the issue I hope they correct it. If they don’t make this right for me then I’m afraid they will have lost a lifelong customer.
