Want a Great Speaker that plays MP3 from a thumb drive?
First let me say I am a bit of an audiophile: I have multiple speaker brands for all different uses: Pioneer in the truck, Bose in the car, Enrock in the boat, Old pair of Jensens for outdoors, old Kenwoods for the basement, Boston Acoustics for the computer and the home theatre has Klipsch towers with cerwin vega surrounds. I have owned quite a few bluetooth speakers and heard most ......some of my friends have the giant JBL towers and Marshalls. My favorite used to be my little Braven BRV-1 which puts out quite a punch in a small package. Now I have a new favorite and it is the PBMSQG12 200 watt speaker. First I will say there are a few things that could be done to improve the speaker which other reviewers have mentioned - 1. the volume coming on at too high of a level .....it should be much lower. 2. - the equalizer settings - 2 of them are useful, the others have either have too much sibilance or are much too muted. 3. - It would be nice to have the next track, volume buttons separate. (also the on off switch could be farther from the USB input. Now for the Good to great 1. - The equalizer setting that gives the most clear sound and base is the only setting you really need. 2. - The unit has unbelievable volume and punch with clear highs and thunderous bass. 3. - You can use a USB thumb drive (make sure your tracks are all in the root - no folders) and that alone is worth every penny! No more bluetooth interruption when messages or calls come in. plus the quality of MP3 is much better when bluetooth does not impact (down grade due to encoding and decoding) the bit rates. 4. - Very light weight 5. - Battery seems very good although it is very early so I have not played it for an extended amount of time. 4 hours was my max so far.All in all I would say you can't find a better sounding speaker at this price point and especially one that plays USB.

It's a value buy
Deceptively lightweight, a comforting rubber like covering and a sturdy carry strap, and an economy of knobs and buttons, with an abundance of bells and whistles. I have a 50 watt speaker of another brand; much heavier, more metal, 2tweeters,2woofers....its half as loud as this Pyle speaker. I know of Pyle from hood car audio enthusiasts, where Pyle products have a spot at the table amongst the boomers. The EQ has various settings, not just 2....2 settings usually mean normal and muffled but louder. Serves my purpose for one room audio; whereas its perfect for my mp3 library and streaming web radio...it also is better than my 50 watt tech tank for being the. BTaudio on my Roku app remote feature..my smart tv is special, accepts only one particular soundbar that I didn't purchase. And this brings the vocal audio in clearer than any other speaker so far. I saw this at its usual price weeks ago, was skeptical if the 200watt power rating, but I know when dealing with identical ohms, you need double the watts to notice any significant volume increase. I'm noticing a significant volume increase over my 50 watt powerhouse...this is light in weight, like a childs toy, but it delivers the sound like a Pyle product

For the $$, I couldn't be happier with the speaker
seems like an awesome, lower-end speaker. It's lightweight, of course, but the sound is actually louder than I expected and the quality is pretty good. I was looking for a reasonably priced speaker, primarily for Bluetooth. This speaker works well for that purpose, the Aux input and USB and FM radio are nice bonus features. It seems like the controls could use a bit of redesign as they aren't very intuitive, but overall, it really functions well and I'm happy with it.

Sturdy & compact, w/good sound but tiny controls, pitifully short playtime & lame battery lifespan.
BOTTOM LINE: Decent, clean sound from a compact sized speaker. However... beware of teeny-tiny control buttons / user interface area; fumble-fingered folks and those with large hands could find using this thing a challenge. Another minus is that when you turn it on the volume is automatically set at max. Worst offense: internal rechargeable battery died in less than 6 months. In the end, if I had it to do over again I would've kept looking and spent a few more bucks and bought something a little more user-friendly, without some of the poor built-in choices this Pyle PBMSQG9 speaker is saddled with. So... 1 STARS.THOUGHTS: I've been doing some remodel work in my basement and enjoy listening to music while I'm down there. I have an ancient Sony boombox but was sick of the seemingly endless commercials on the radio and sadly my old cassette tapes are on their last legs. I knew I wanted something that could play tunes off of a USB stick and I didn't want to pay an arm & a leg; something compact with decent sound. I looked at a LOT of various units from several manufacturers. This one from Pyle *seemed* like a solid overall choice.THE GOOD: It checked off all the boxes on my 'must-have' list and the large rubbery wraparound bands/feet at each end keep the speaker in place and take a fair amount of bumping and punishment. The ability to recharge the battery from a USB port is a nice touch.THE NOT SO GOOD: You can't leave this thing plugged in or you risk cooking the rechargeable internal battery. I don't know if it's replaceable and even if it is, it's probably not cheap so you have to unplug it as soon as it's done charging or... very annoying. Entry-level pricing means simplicity... to a fault: the tiny controls are jammed into a space literally smaller than a matchbook cover. 2 buttons (<</>>) do most of the selection work; you have to toggle or doubletap them to change song selection & volume. That's a major pain, but whatta ya expect for $30?THE BAD: When you turn this thing on the volume is automatically set at the MAX level. Whichever engineer or marketing genius thought that this would be a good idea should be repeatedly kicked in the nuts. I haven't tried any of the wireless/Bluetooth features yet, so I cannot comment on those. Others who have can give you the straight poop on those.THE UGLY: After less than 6 months of infrequent use totaling less than a dozen recharges, the internal battery has DIED! I am not about to spend the $$$ money to replace it (if it can be), so this cheap junk speaker has regrettably been pitched in the garbage. Why ANY company would not set it up to have a choice of either running off a 110v plug-in outlet OR using the internal battery is beyond me. With a full-charge runtime of only 8 hrs, it's ridiculous to force the user to have to turn it off and fully re-charge before using it again, instead of just plugging it in. And it should be able to play *while re-charging* too! Other portable/rechargeable speakers out there do, so there is absolutely zero excuse from Pyle. Very serious design flaws, IMHO, regardless of whether it's an entry-level unit or a top-of-the-line model. I might as well have driven down the road and thrown my $30 out the window. Very, very disappointed! This was my first Pyle purchase and I can guarantee you that it was my LAST. As for as I am concerned, "Pyle" stands for "pile of sh_t." Potential buyers BEWARE!!! Just pony up a little more cash and buy yourself something with more intelligent options and better user flexibility for your hard-earned $$$. :-(

Ok speaker
Ok speaker with decent sound quality at low to mid volume. I hate the fact that when you turn it on, it starts at near max volume. It has a tuner with no antenna and it can't get radio stations unless you plug in the auxillary cable. The auxiliary cable plug got so loose after a while the cable would fall out. Probably because one has to plug in a cable to get a station, and than unplug it when you put it away.

Decent for the price!
This is well ok but it definitely doesn't seem like 200 watts, its not 200 watt loud, to be fair the loudness is matched by my free lynx speaker I got with my deordorant for christmas which you can buy seperately for £10, the only reason I would still buy this over the tiny lynx speaker is because it has a 5 times more battery life lasting 24 hrs. I am kind of disappointed comparing with the value of my tiny lynx speaker but again the battery life makes up for that disappointment and size I suppose.

Easy set up Pyle blue tooth speaker.
The Pyle blue tooth speaker has lived up to its expectation as it was easy to use and has a good sound even better with the FM radio option so I can still listen it when I want, great little machine value for money.
