Sunmeg Filament-LED Bulbs
We first encountered filament-LED bulbs in the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel while on vacation in Canada. They are not widely known in the USA.Impressed with their un-technological appearance, I ordered 64 Sunmeg candelabra-base 4-Watt filament-LED bulbs to replace older-style Philips light-guide LED bulbs in six antique chandeliers between two 1940 - 1950's era houses. The filament-LED bulbs restored the chandeliers to vintage look and cast a warm incandescent-like glow about the room. The crystal glass bulb is a further attraction when the bulbs are unlit.Originally, the fixtures had been served by incandescent 'forward-phase' 2-wire Lutron dimmers which functioned acceptably -- although with a bit of flicker at some settings -- with the Philips bulbs. The Sunmeg bulbs are inoperable with this dimmer type: 'reverse-phase' / ELV dimmers are required and can be obtained from Lutron, Leviton, and others. ELV units require that neutral wire be available in the wallbox, and is generally not present in older homes having knob and tube wiring. We therefore reverted to ordinary wall-switches, with some justice, as the houses themselves were built in the pre-dimmer epoch.

A great bulb if they will fit in your fixture.
We have purchased 2 packages of 8 of these bulbs. They work great in our dining room and work perfectly with one of the dimmers that are referenced in the description. You can't tell that they aren't traditional bulbs when they are on and the light is beautiful. We found that they didn't work in other fixtures because just above the metal threaded part of the bulb there is a wide plastic ring that was incompatible with the fixtures in our foyer and hallways. The first attempt to screw a bulb in resulted in no electrical contact. When we tried tightening the bulb for contact, the ceramic socket in the light fixture cracked. On the whole we like the bulbs but because of the ring between the threading and bulb, they really aren't a universal led replacement

Excellent light coverage with this bulb -- very good in chandeliers where the bulb sits in glass cups for diffusing light.
These candelabra bulbs were purchased for a ceiling chandelier in which the bulbs sit in frosted glass cups, which are supposed to catch and diffuse the light.. The fact that they give light in such a large radius (without the sizable plastic base common to other LEDs) really makes it work. The large base LEDs would shine the light out the mouth of the frosted glass cup, while these LEDs fill the cups with light. The effect is significant.I would note that these LEDs, like other modern dimmable LEDs, require you to have a modern extremely low voltage (ELV) dimmer or the bulbs will glow even when off, and will buzz. Here is the one I used: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00622GWDY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1One other thing: One bulb stopped working about 13 months after I bought it. I contacted the seller (Jie Jia Technologies) and they sent another bulb immediately, no questions asked (it is currently in transit). They did not require me to mail the old bulb to China or anything -- just got a replacement in the mail immediately and emailed me to notify me. I am very pleased.

These bulbs are a great LED replacement for the 40W clear bulbs we had ...
These bulbs are a great LED replacement for the 40W clear bulbs we had in wall sconces and a chandelier. They are exceptionally bright. Hard to believe at only 4 watts. I did experience the difficulty others had getting the bulbs to screw in far enough to hit the bottom contact, due to the wide shoulder above the threaded portion of the bulb. I was able to pull up on these bottom contacts enough so the lights would function. One additional thing I noticed was that these glow dimly when turned off. After some research, I discovered that having the wall sconces on a 3-way switch arrangement, with the back-and-forth wiring between the switches and the fixtures, induces enough voltage when the switches are OFF to excite (?) the LED circuitry.

So far so good. Quite happy with these and provided they last
UPDATE: Still working (and looking) beautifully after several months. Will definitely be buying these again in same and different shapes the next time I need to order bulbs. Thanks for a fantastic product.ORIGINAL REVIEW:So far so good. Quite happy with these and provided they last, I will seek out same again for these or other fixtures.I've used two of these eight so far, and they produce a nice warm light in my fixtures - which was my primary goal, along with using less power. Was going to replace all at once to match, but these are a perfect match to shade of light of the 40W halogens in other sockets of the same fixtures, that I didn't need to rush and change the rest yet. So I am thrilled that I can use up the remainder of those bulbs already in service, though I would have been ok replacing them all as well and using the remainder of the old bulbs elsewhere if possible. The big thing for me is that the light is warm - and it is - just as described, plus the power usage an order of magnitude less (as advertised - I didn't test the usage on old or new bulbs). The fixtures have a clouded white shade with open bottom on each bulb, so that may help normalize them a bit. If I really look at the bulb w/o shade, I can see that they are slightly warmer (a great thing) than the old halogens. The glowing filaments look about the same as halogens and are only yellow when not lit. I like them both ways really, but in my fixtures you don't get to see the yellow filaments when unlit.

One of the few in this size and design at 60 Watt with warm light
The bulbs are a great addition. I did have 40 Watt LED bulbs but felt I needed more light in the two areas. These are one of the few that do 60 Watt equivalent. They are bright and unique design. Would highly recommend if you are looking to replace incandescent bulbs As a note of caution this LED will not work as desired if you have older dimmers like I did. Replacing with a new dimmer will resolve those issues consider this an investment on saving on your electric bill.
