Difficult to do
I got this for my seven year old to do and he definitely needed adult help to figure it out. And even some things weren't as easy to figure out. Once it's together it's very fragile and easy to fall apart. But it's beautiful once it's done very fun I would buy again in a different theme.

Charming way to bring in the holidays
This puzzle has charm and Christmas spirit in every little box of pieces. I was a little worried the sky might be a bit complex but it wasn't just blue but an array of color that brightens the skyline. The elves are adorable, the santa very attractive, the reindeer practically prancing with excitement and the sense of Christmas coming is going to have everyone looking forward to the next day when they can open another box of beautiful pieces. Everything can go back in their little boxes to use again and again for years of holiday memories. Loved it.

Fun but frustrating at times
This is definitely a different type of advent calendar. I bought this for me and my husband to enjoy as a lead up to Christmas. This is packaged really well, organized and comes with each day packaged in its own small box. Each day had a couple extra pieces included! The finished project was cute and made a sweet addition to our holiday decor. The lights is came with were bright and really made it look like a decoration. Each day took us about 10 minutes to build. There are over 1000 pieces and 240 “steps” to the build this over 24 days. We enjoyed this projectWould I get this again—yes. But a few things to be aware. The directions are good but TINY! We had to get a magnifier out to see some of the detail.I wish there were pictures of all sides of the finished tree. With only one orientation, it made it difficult when a piece would “pop” off. This is made of tiny mini snap together building bricks (like leg os). The tree is only connected in the middle. Several times through the build, small deco pieces popped off. Figuring out where they went, and getting them back on without other pieces coming off proved quite challenging. Once, while slide the project back, half the tree popped off. That was easier to fix. Just be aware you will want to keep it in a dedicated space that isn’t easy for pets or children to disturb.

Frustrating kit
At first, this was really enjoyable and I thought doing a different kit each year would be a nice Advent activity. But I am about halfway through it and am now finding it to be extremely frustrating. Things keep falling off from previous days and when I try to put them back on, more pieces come off. It has gotten to the point that I am unable to put it back the way it was originally because I’m not sure which day the pieces were assembled so can’t go back to the instructions to figure it out. Plus, I’m finding it is very difficult to attach the upper branches (days 12-13) to the lower ones, so the upper part of the tree is very wobbly. If you are considering purchasing this kit, I recommend you plan on gluing it together as you go. I am regretting spending the money, frankly.

Perfect gift! SO much fun to put together!
Got this for my son. He absolutely loved opening a box each day and putting the tree together layer by layer. Our family enjoyed watching the progress each day. The pieces were adorable little teddy bear, little candles little gifts on the tree. Simply adorable. The finishing touches were little lights that actually lit up. We had the little tree turned on over the entire holiday season. I would definitely recommend this as a gift to someone.

Great set
We are on day 20, and my adult sons have been helping me put this together, and it is a great set. We haven't gotten to the lights yet, so that is unknown, but we have been so delighted with how cute it is turning out!Update, tree is finished and the lights look great, except it has a USB plug, and my village does not, so keep that in mind. But over all, I would totally recommend this set for any builder, it's a great bonding experience from 8 to 80!

DO NOT attempt without "Kragle" (LEGO Movie Super Glue)
I bought this Advent kit for my 13 year old daughter, a LEGO lover, who quit after day one. It is not easy to assemble and the directions are NOT very clear when identifying which parts you needed to use where. On day 15, we were given the wrong piece which made the assembly a frustrating, lop-sided nightmare. We should have received FLAT 1x2 plates and instead received 1x2 bricks which were too tall for the space between the branch layers. This set the tone for 6 days of construction & reconstruction nightmares until on day 21, I deconstructed the entire thing AGAIN and brought in the brush-on "Kragle" (a reference to Krazy Glue from the LEGO movie). I don't know that it could be done with regular super glue because the pieces are so tiny, they would be getting stuck everywhere and onto you and your skin. All said and done, I deconstructed and started over AT LEAST six different times. The layers do not go together easily or well and would be all off balance or with very little pressure, a stocking or candle would fall off. Pressing too hard to lock the layers together would make the "branches" fall off. Once "Kragled," the final product looked pretty nice and the lights were a really nice added touch, but it took me 28 days and an entire bottle of brush-on super glue to assemble. I'm not sure how it will hold up when stored away until next Christmas.BOTTOM LINE: If you are looking for something frustrating and EXTREMELY challenging with a high probability for missing or incorrect pieces, then this is for you!

Christmas Countdown Puzzle
Absolutely love it! I bought 5 (various pictures) to start a new Christmas Tradition. I figure my people can either pass and share the puzzles each year or just keep re-building their original. A nice family activity to bond over.Buy them...you won't regret it.

Wonderful advent calendar idea -- way better than the standard crappy chocolate
What a fantastic idea and excellent execution of the idea in this advent calendar style jigsaw puzzle!I had been looking for better ideas for advent calendars for my daughter as she's an adult now but I still like to keep up the traditions that we started when she was an infant... but the chocolate calendars seem to have become really crappy over the years, to the point where they sell them in dollar stores and you can just imagine the poor quality at that point. So I have been looking for different ideas to surprise her with in recent years because even though she still has the little mouse with his little December calendar that he pops from day to day into the new little pouch each day -- and she loves that and still hangs it up every year and moves the little mouse into his new date every day -- I wanted to try to come up with something different to celebrate the month on a daily basis. Then I saw this and I was instantly intrigued.Looking into it further, what a fantastic idea and what a terrific product! 24 little boxes full of great quality puzzle pieces, one box opened daily to reveal 42 puzzle pieces that can be put together, but then the rest of the puzzle doesn't take form until more and more days worth of boxes of puzzle pieces are opened... oh my goodness, this is FAN TAS TIC!!!! Instead of popping open a little slot to reveal a piece of cheap and not very tasty chocolate, instead you get to open up a little box full of puzzle pieces and put together a portion of the puzzle, leading up to the complete puzzle eventually on Christmas Eve. ((I did peek and the quality of the puzzle pieces is excellent -- once it is all together, it's going to be fantastic. The only question then will be whether to keep it together and frame it or whether to take it apart and do it all over again next year. I'm not sure yet what the answer to that question will be but I will leave it up to my daughter once she has put the whole thing together on Christmas Eve with the last of the puzzle pieces.)I am so over the moon with this and my daughter is going to be absolutely delighted with the entire month of fun that it entails. Wow.The puzzle is such a great scene, and has everything that Christmas should have and everything that my daughter's memories of Christmases past do have: Santa on a big comfy chair, cookies and milk on a little table nearby, Christmas tree, ornaments, kittens, puppies, a doggo wearing reindeer antlers, tinsel, evergreen trees, snow, wreaths, gingerbread men, presents, garlands, teddy bears, snow globes, fireplace, stockings, deer outside the window, nutcracker, icy windows, wooden walls, rocking horse, tufted chair, just so many of the things and themes that are associated with Christmas. Wow.This is going to be a really really fun December. I can hardly wait!

A new Christmas tradition is born!
This is such a great idea and I am so pleased with these Advent calendar puzzles. We have had a tradition for many years of changing the date on our little Advent calendar with a cute little mouse who resides in a different little pouch each day leading up to Christmas Eve. But this idea of having a daily little box of puzzle pieces that the family can work on together is something on an entirely different (and better) level. It is interactive, of course, and much more fun than just moving a little mousy to the next little pocket. The whole family can enjoy a bit of family time or an individual can enjoy a little daily downtime while working towards the big day.The puzzle itself is of excellent quality and the scenes are fantastic. I actually purchased a few extras of these to give to friends and extended family members so that they, too, can enjoy the lead up to Christmas with what I am pretty confident will become a new tradition for us and for them. There are a number of different scenes on the different puzzles so it is easy to choose one that suits the different loved ones in your life. Some are indoor scenes, some are outdoor scenes, some have lots of pets in them, some have Santas in them, etc. I have been able to easily choose different scenes for different people and I am very confident that the recipients will very much enjoy the ones that I've chosen for them.I am counting the days until December 1 now and very much looking forward to diving in to this puzzle and very much looking forward to seeing and hearing from family and friends about how much they enjoy them too. We already have puzzle time as a family activity but this enables us to combine family time and puzzle time and Advent all in one, so we are pretty excited about it.I would definitely recommend these puzzles and give this 5 stars for sure!

Wonderful New Concept For Advent PERFECT
We ordered this advent puzzle immediately upon laying eyes upon it. It is beautiful and even prettier than the picture on the box when we saw it, it's brighter. What a treat we are over the moon with this genius idea. Advent for adults!! and children, without chocolate, the children can be overwhelmed with the 1000 plus pieces but this offer they just deal with the 42 daily ones in each little box. This is something achievable for them, because they really want to make this delightful puzzle with the wonderful items illustrated. We can't say enough good about this brainwave piece of entertainment. The child can complete the 42 pieces and a small section of the puzzle overall each day and then wait with excitement for the next day and the next 42 doable pieces and after the 24th day the puzzle is a whole and the lovely picture is there to admire and enjoy. So much fun for them. For us, as adults, we have emptied all the 24 boxes into a pile and aim to begin the puzzle Dec 1 and finish it by Christmas, it is such a heartwarming scene to gaze upon. It is so very perfect that there is the large photo of the puzzle to have while compiling the pieces. The puzzle pieces are of a good thickness and snap together nicely and they have a great shine to them. As you will see each box of 42 pieces are numbered all the same number for each section or day so when the puzzle is complete the child can redo it, if wanted the next year. We will remake this puzzle each Christmas I am sure and we are totally looking forward to beginning, we are excited almost as much as any child. A new tradition. Thank you for this something new to do activity at a time of year when most things are so routine. What fun.

Versatile Christmas-themed puzzle
This is like one of those chocolate advent calendars where you eat one piece of chocolate per day leading up to Christmas but with puzzles. Inside the main box are 24 boxes of 42 pieces which amount to 1,008 pieces in total. Overall, this is a good puzzle for families. While 1,008 pieces is a bit much for younger children, breaking it down into 42 piece portions is much more manageable. The pieces are also numbered so you can put the pieces back in the same 24 boxes for another time. For puzzle lovers, the pieces are good quality and the colours are vibrant. This also includes a poster which you can reference (in addition to the box) when putting the pieces together. The only minor point is if you decide to do one box a day, it's not as challenging for experienced individuals. However, the nice thing is you can build this puzzle however you want.
