I've never used the spray on sticky glue. I personally don't think it would work as well as the heavy glue from out of the plastic tub. I recommend finding any kind of sticky glue you can find for these. Also in my area of southwest pa, the blue and black balls work for 2 different types of biting flies. I put a blue and black ball together at every location. As I drive up through the farm you can see the deer flies landing and flying all around the truck. I rigged up a ball on a flower hanger in the back of the truck and experimented with both colors while driving around. Amazing results. Smother them in glue and there's no way they will fly away! I can definitely see a reduction around the farm.

Ok I did not expect this to work so well but it is insane how this thing actually catches TONS of yellow flies, literally immediately! Big yellow fly problem in Florida and this year seems exceptionally bad so I was desperate. I brushed a bunch of the sticky stuff all over 2 of these and within minutes they had a few, by dusk there was probably 20, and by morning even more! I didn’t think of the fact these prob can’t be reused (since cleaning a hundred flies off would be nasty!) so I do wish they weren’t so costly so I could just replace each year!

Inaccurate description

We buy this pair of balls every year. They trap a thousand deer flies just like advertised. We put 2 of them out every year about 500 ft from the goat corral, and cover them with " tangle foot" goop in a can. Not spray ... they work great ! My only complaint is that the balls only last for 1 season. They go flat after that.I will continue to buy them each spring cuz they work fantastic. It really cuts down on biting flies.I will buy them as long as this damn goat is in my back yard !Thanksgood product that made my life better. !!!!Marty from Ohio

I’m overall happy with this product. You have to use your own Tangle Trap or similar product.

I purchased this for deer flies :( This product does not really attract them as it really doesn't move. Deer flies seem to like motion and movement. I would not recommend this ball as it is sort of heavy for the application and-- Honeslty- not the most attractive thing to look at. If you are looking for an effective way to capture and kill bugs-this wasn't it for me. I would not recommend this product for any application where this is visible. Sort of gross to look at.

My husband thought I was crazy when I told him that I may have found a solution to the yellow flies driving us crazy in our own yard. To be honest, it sounded like a gimmick to me too. I ordered these with a can of the Tanglefoot, and it started catching flies within minutes! There are dozens of yellow flies (and a few horseflies) on these things. Absolutely amazing! We found the tip in a previous review to apply the Tanglefoot with disposable gloves rather than the included tiny brush worked really well. Take back your yard!!

We get lots of horse and green flies. I put these up on shepards hooks and coat with the sticky stuff from cans. Flies go crazy when the balls move and stick well. Cleared out the flies in a week or so. Now don't get hit in the head or get painful bites while in or around the garden or pool.
