Handy and powerful
Really handy torch. Goes from candlelight, which is useful for the middle of the night to blindingly bright. The top end brightness is nice to have but not a must. It only seems marginally brighter than the setting below but is clearly putting out much more power as it generates a fair bit of heat.It is so compact it slips into a pocket without being annoying. Obviously well machined, screws together smoothly and feels good quality. The magnetic charger is the only way to charge without taking the battery out, but seriously not a big problem unless you need to charge it in different places a lot. Battery lasts well, of course depending on what mode you have it on. And fairly quick to charge. There are several additional modes like a lockout and a timer which are accessed with different combinations of pressing the button. I accidentally triggered the strobe (which is v fast, kind of like a nightclub) which was quite entertaining as I was in the roof space straddling a couple of beams. The magnetic base is very useful for attaching it to various things. Actually much more handy than I thought.Worth the sale price (not sure if I would buy it full price, you really have to be into torches for that!).

Best little torch I’ve owned with many great features
This little torch has so many damn features. To start with the build:The quality is great, it has a tactile surface for grip. The metal is very durable and the LED is encased in plastic as opposed to glass, meaning it’s not going to smash. There are several settings, and I mostly use it on the second brightness, great for everyday tasks when it’s dark (live on a boat). The magnet on the bottom provides much utility as well as the dual direction clip, this can easily be doubled as a head torch if you wear a cap.The only downside is the battery, when used on turbo it doesn’t last a long time. So buying one extra battery may be worth it if you’re going to need extended use. However the batteries are small and cheap so I’d recommend getting a spare.Pros:brightMulti settingsDurableBeautiful unboxing experienceComes with carry case + lanyardEasy and fast to chargeBattery indicatorLight modes sos + lock modeCons:It’s very smallRuns out fast on full beamCan not adjust the beamNot cheapCan get hot when used on full brightness

Brilliant compact torch - highly recommend
Bought this expecting great things and not disappointed. The medium brightness is great for general day to day use and if you need the full power it's good to know that you have that available. The lowest setting is great if you need to look at something close up without being so bright that you can't see it.Because it's so compact it will go easily in your jeans pocket for when you need it. The magnetic feature is great if you want to keep it handy on the fridge for example. Also recently needed a hands free light and rather than using the headband type torch I found that you can attach it to a baseball cap peak really easily with the integrated clip (bi-directional great design) and it shines wherever you are looking. The magnetic charger is really easy to use. Definitely worth a try if you're looking for something as a pocket ready very capable torch.

Olight S1R Baton II LED Flashlight
The Olight S1R Baton II LED Flashlight is certainly bright in a completely dark environment. The light penetration is as expected and overall, I'm happy with the purchase.Light for those that don't know make decent LED lights in varying shapes and sizes. They are not the "best" manufacturer of LED lights, nor are they the "worst".I think it's safe to say, you can purchase an Olight flashlight and be safe in the knowledge, you've not purchased something that is likely to fail anytime soon.If I have any negatives to say about the light, it is the sequence one has to go through to make the light work. It's not hard, nor difficult to use, just a little different to what I am used to. One quickly gets to grips with it and once familiar, it's all pretty seamless.

Its seriously tiny, yet gives a 3D Maglite a run for its money.
I have a problem. There is no cure, repetative torch purchase syndrome.I have wanted this S1R for quite some time and its always just been a little bit too expensive to justify it. Then a flash sale happened and I acquired it for a slightly less painful £38 which I think is about right for the product. So I will review it with this underpinning. It is extremely well made, I have heard for years that Olight are the Daddy when it comes to build quality and I can definitely agree with that. It feels solid even considering its very dinky size. The lanyard is a great touch, a thick round band with adjusting toggle means you'll never have to feel the dread of dropping your torch as it can be firmly and comfortably attached to your wrist. The magnetic charger is great, you can see when its finished without having to lay it on its side, it holds very firm. And finally the light itself. ITS SO BRIGHT! Its a bit of a unique button that needs held down to cycle the different power levels but I'll get used to it. The moonlight mode is a really good addition, you dont always need to light up a small city, sometimes just enough to read a map in the dark is enough, and its not wasting power unnecessarily. On low you could easily navigate in the dark and on its brighter modes you'll be lighting up a good area, perfect! on 1000 lumens its like daylight, astonishing. It gets properly warm at the lens so dont be pointing it at yourself too closely. I was a little concerned that its fixed focus, but the way it has a concentrated spot in the middle with a big throw at the edges pretty much does both jobs without needing to adjust it.I'll put it through its paces over the winter and see what sort of battery performance I get.1st UPDATE.I really am impressed with this little torch. It's just so bright. It gets warm when in turbo mode, I measured it peaking at 40.3⁰C at the handle section which feels warm to the touch but is not uncomfortable.
