If you want a mat that's as good to sleep on as your own bed
Exped's most mega mat is named aptly, so you don't miss what it is, and what it does! Just in case you haven't twigged yet, this mat is mega! If you want a mat that's as good to sleep on as your own bed, this is it. It's almost exactly the same length and width as the standard single beds in our spare bedrooms. It's good and thick and well insulated, too so if you use it when car-camping, you get a great night's sleep, fellow campers allowing, that is! Its plenty warm enough to use over four seasons, keeping you well off frozen ground and staying warm to the touch. The top-side cover is soft to the touch and not as low-friction as some mats, which means you're more inclined to stay put over-night! The edges are square, which means you have good support right up to the edges, which combined with its generous dimensions in the first place, means you seldom stray off the mat, with arms, elbows, knees and tootsies staying over insulated territory - something that isn't always the case when using a back-packing sleeping mat, which are necessarily cut down to limit their weight.Down-sides? Two - price and weight. At close to a couple of hundred quid, it's firmly in premium-price-land... and with a weight of two and half kilos you're not going to be taking it up Eiger or tucked neatly in your cycle pannier! The over-size stuff-sac works well, too and is perfect for quick camp-strike times at the end of your week-end, but it does not make for a neat roll. The mat can go into the supplied sack while still partially inflated which is a plus, 'cos it takes ages to completely empty, but the down-side is that it is nowhere as compact as when fully deflated. It's supplied with a mini-pump and a first aid kit (for the mat, that is, not for humans...) but the mini pump, which is the same one they supply for mats with much smaller volumes, struggles a bit to make any headway with the amount of air needed to fill the megamat - best to open the valves and leave it to inflate as a result of the foam expanding, then top it up to your favourite firmness with the mini-pump.In summary, if you car-camp a lot and value a good night's sleep and/or, like me, you're the wrong side of your best-before-date... raid the piggy bank and get one - you won't regret it. Many Zeds will be piled up as a consequence!

Go on, treat yourself!
Amazing camp mattress. They're expensive but so worth it- I've never been so comfortable while camping. They're easy to inflate and deflate, and to pack. They are bulky and heavier than a standard thermarest, but about ten times more comfortable.I'm recommending this to all my friends.

Lux Car Camping Comfort. Spare bed for guests at home.
We were about to set off for our first camping trip and I wanted to try and get the maximum insulation and comfort for my wife who was less emotionally ebullient about the trip than me. :-) No (single person) sleeping mat is wider, longer or more comfy than this model and if you have the space in the car/house to store you'll be very happy with it (no getting away from the fact that it's still a very large sausage when rolled though).I bought 4 of these around 2 years ago and they've been brilliant (no punctures but not used terribly often - just at home for sleepovers, when camping or visiting friends). I tend to not remember to lay them out before they're needed (or maybe just too impatient) so rarely give them the 10-15 minutes to self-inflate but they pump up to a comfy level with the hand/foot pump in just a minute or so depending on your output rate. They roll up very fast when it's time to pack... just fold 1/3 over, and 1/3 again, lie like a seal on it and roll around a bit. The deflate valve is large enough not to make this at all arduous. Then roll a tight cigar and it's zero struggle to pop into the huge bag. 10 year olds can put this away themselves.Pads can be butted up right next to each other for a near-contiguous surface and there are optional elastic couplers to tie the mats together (I didn't buy these). Be mindful that these mats will occupy a lot of space in smaller tents and may touch edges risking condensation depending on the weather. If you can deal with the size these are top bananas.

Nice but expensive
At first disappointed but after reading the cryptic instructions for first time use I figured it out. It is very comfortable but expensive for what it is. I have friends who have an Exped double and it is wonderful but heavy. This is too heavy for all but car camping. I like but is probably 100 bucks more than it should be.

Really happy with this camping mattress
Really happy with this camping mattress. Was hard to fork out so much dough for a camping pad but bc of my back and hip pain issues and our first camping experience as a family I wanted to make it the best experience possible so I went with this one based on the reviews. This mattress was well with the $$$. It is very high quality, toasty warm, and so so comfortable (once I found the right inflation level for me). I just had to play with it a bit as I can't have too hard of a mattress for my hips. You can get it really firm too if prefer though. This mattress was so comfortable I now have it on my side of the bed at home as we have a firm mattress that I couldn't sleep on without hip pain. Now I sleep through the night well with minimal pain and my husband still enjoys the firm bed on his side :) I also like the fact that even though it's air filled it doesn't feel as much like it as those cheap air mattresses. Maybe it's all the insulation but it doesn't try and roll you off the edges when you move around. These make excellent quick comfy beds for company too. I wouldn't buy it for backpacking/hiking though. It's pretty bulky and a bit too heavy to want to carry it on a minimalist trip. Car camping its great though. Very happy with purchase.

Love Love Love
After years of sleeping on air mattresses that allow the cold to seep through and deflate after 1 night I was extremely surprised and so happy to have purchased the Exped MegaMat 10 Duo - Self Inflating Foam Sleeping Pad, 4" Thickness Camping Bed. this was by far the most comfortable sleep camping we have had in years. the pad was easy to set up, and self inflate, and top off the firmness with a recommended cordless pump.I just wish once deflated it would roll up smaller but a fantastic product regarless.

Expected otherwise....
Interesting to me ... there is no repair/patch kit included or offered when I contacted the company about this issue. Ergo when a puncture dies happen you have your roll of gaffers tape handy to make any necessary repair. The company said one is not included and they do not offer a patch/repair kit.I realize I had expected otherwise from a high end priced sleeping pad.Other wise the product performs as expected.Suggest adding a small crossbow pocket inside to store a repair kit and pump. With out a repair kit with the pad when a puncture/rip does happen ... I ended up sleeping on a flat pad on the ground. Well sleep I did not nor was I warm.
