Great Devotional - Makes Decade Concepts Studied - Click
I am only a few days into this devotional so far, but I love that so much is packed so well in short daily readings. Major Ian Thomas has a way of explaining things that make them easy to understand and apply and experience the Christian life in ways that when coming to understand -- fit perfectly with what we wonder how we never saw or understood spiritual truths before that were always right there in front of us.He suggests that you read only one reading a day and let it sit and give it thought, not to rush and read more than one a day and that was a challenge at first, but I 100% agree with it. Part of what makes his teaching so effective, is helping us to understand that the Christian faith is not something we want to binge on reading to rush to try and figure it all out in as few sittings / readings as possible. Rather, taking time to let each day's reading take root and apply it, and give it thought, it has a impact and effect that I think would not be the same to just read it all at once.I also really suggest going to the Torchbearers Website ministry he started to listen to his actual audio recordings, they are online, and they really open up things to understand in living the Christian life, in that it is Christ who lives it through us, but the Holy Spirit. He has a gift to explain things that I had heard and read many times, some things over a decade, and yet when I heard him explain these things they just clicked in ways they never had before. For me it is hard to stay with things at times and the daily readings can be a challenge for me to stay with, if you have someone or a few that will read this with you and you can meet up to then discuss them it may help to stay with the regular readings. I also think this is a devotional that could be done each year and it help to grow in the things he explains. One thing I like about what he explains, is how we may have to hear something 10 or 20 times, and different ways, but when the Holy Spirit then opens it up so we can see and understand it, we wonder how we had never seen or understood it before, seeming to be such a simple and easy concept, but that can take years or decades to grasp, until it just clicks.

A powerful little book
I started a small women's bible study group and selected this book for discussion. I was looking for something on the Holy Spirit, simple but deep, scripturally sound and would generate a great discussion among the group of women who would meet weekly via Zoom. I was intentionally avoiding the typical women's bible study material with fill-in-the-blank workbooks and videos...I wanted something that got to the heart of the matter: Without God's Holy Spirit, we cannot do anything worthy of our calling. This little book did not disappoint. We're half way through the book and it is an amazing journey talking about how Jesus wants so very much to replace, by His presence within us, all our inherent potential for evil under the influence of the flesh...and he offers us instead, all His limitless potential for good through the energy and power of His indwelling Holy Spirit. (the author's main point in this book). Each chapter (there are 50) is only about 3 pages in length with 3 short questions at the end. Most of the questions are in devotional format, and so we often do not share all our personal answers, but it's not necessary to a meaningful discussion about what we read and learned. The author has the ability to express biblical truths (all with supporting scripture) in a manner that is very illuminating and thought-provoking. Some chapters will bring you to tears as you reflect on the depths of God's love and plans for us. I'm also finding the book to be a great resource to help me in my witness to others...the author's clear communication of salvation and sanctification is wonderful. I highly recommend this book for a personal devotional or a group study.

The power of Christ in you.
What does it mean to have the same power that raised Christ from the dead living in you? God gave us His very own life to dwell in us so the world could see what it looks like to live as Jesus would live. He gave His life TO us, so He could live THROUGH us. Ian Thomas' book of short devotionals is full of inspiration for Christian living.

Christ lives not only in us but through us!
This is one of the most basic but profound books I’ve read. It’s beautifully written in short chapters (2-3 pages) ending with 2-3 questions after each chapter to help you digest what you’ve read. It puts meat on the bones of Christianese. While we do live by faith, Thomas does a great job of helping the reader visualize Spiritual living and what that means practically speaking. This could easily be a devotional. I see me repeatedly reading this book as refreshment and to see growth as I re-answer the questions.

LIFE CHANGING!
Christian beliefs fall into 2 major categories: the exchanged life or the improved life. This book clearly and powerfully reveals that only Jesus can live the Christian life and HE is more than willing to live it in and through you. HE didn't give HIS life and rise from the dead to help YOU live a better life but to exchange HIS life for yours. The Truth will change your life!

The heart of the Christian Life
Major Ian Thomas, founder of the Torchbearer Bible Schools around the world explains in beautiful simplicity that Christ Himself is the heart of the Christian life. In 50 short, concise chapters, the reader will be invigorated by the greatest message on earth...Jesus desires to live His resurrected life in each and every “dead”, submitted man, woman or child by simply letting Him be all that He can and will be!

A MUST READ
It has spoken to me time and again. I could not let it down, I read it through 3 times over a couple of months. It is deep, it is scriptural and will help one to mature in his walk with His Lord. I very much recommend it to any serious followers of Christ.
