great book
this book is great for anyone wanting to learn electronics, even novices like my self. clear simple language, rising to more in depth, as a topic precedes, the second hand version I brought was in fantastic condition, with no marks just a sign of being on a shelf for a long time. best £15 spent.

Echos of School - No practical Use
I purchased this book on the basis of the reviews and the description, however the book is 95%+ theory and little to no practical application.Very, very disappointed - it's just a basic academic orientated text book. The theory behind how a device works is fine but the actual use of a device bares little to no relationship to the theory of how many atoms are passing through any point, or that the sun fusion energy is similar to a hydrogen bomb ? what the hell has this got to do with electronic ciruits ?Why is it teachers and academics get so enthroiled in the detail to relise they are passing across information of little to no practical use what-so-ever. The same useless information was passed on to me when I was at school for A level physics - was it of any practical use to me ? no.There is no way any of the information of the book can be used to create any electrical circuit, program any PIC device, start communications between devices or design anything. If you wanted to bore the death out of a bunch of kids or perhaps go for a teaching job then I guess this is the book for you.
