SweetMax Cat Scratcher and Post, 2 in 1 Scratching Post

My cats already have a cat scratcher like the one on the bottom portion of this product. They haven't paid attention to it, so I didn't expect them to care that much about this one. But I was wrong! They jumped right on it when I pulled it out and started batting around the rope ball and playing hide and seek around the post. There is a small scratcher on top of the larger area on the bottom portion, and since cats like varying surfaces, they just had to check it out and start scratching on it.They are using this scratching post and it is a great place to redirect them when they get ideas about digging their claws into the leather couch. Since they like the scratcher they don't seem to mind being redirected when trying to scratch at something inappropriate- like jackets, backpacks or couches.It comes with a dangly toy that has a soft, furry end to it, which is supposed to be interactive. But they took it and played tug o' war with it and batted it around all by themselves. They did this when it was normally their nap time.The product is packaged very nicely and securely and is of high quality, so it looks nice in my living room. It has a nice wooden exterior and looks like I spent much more money than I actually did. It's hard to tell quality by looking at a listing, but this item is solid, sturdy and looks good.It comes with catnip, which I haven't opened yet, because my cats got so riled up by just interacting with the scratcher and toy that they were running around the house being silly for a good half an hour. This is a good thing since they are stuck indoors for a lot of the fall and winter when it's cold outside. Plus it's good entertainment, as anyone who appreciates cats will understand.

I was pleasantly surprised when I took this cat scratcher out of the box and got a chance to see it in person. It is made of a durable wood base that is incredibly sturdy while also being aesthetically pleasing. The scratching board itself fits snuggly into the light, wooden frame and it’s reversible, making this product something that I hope will last a long time.Assembly for this product is incredibly easy – just screw in the scratch post to the screw in the wooden frame and you’re done! You don’t need tools or anything.The second I put it on the ground, both of my cats were all over it. I hadn’t even put the cat nip that comes with it into the scratcher! They love the toy ball that hangs from the post and will play their own little version of tetherball with it for a while before returning to simply use it as a scratcher. The design on the scratcher itself serves as an additional toy as it can be used for scratching as well as simply batting at. Either the way, my cats were very enamored with the fun design on the scratcher base.I have had the scratcher for over two weeks and it is holding up very well. With two cats, I was concerned that I was going to need to flip the scratcher in the base of the toy already but you can barely tell it’s been used! They have two other cardboard-like scratchers in the house and they ripped them to shreds in a matter of days, but this one is sticking around for now.In addition to using it for its intended purpose, my youngest has taken up to napping and lounging on all of our scratchers. She is especially partial to this one (even without the cat nip!) and I constantly find her using the scratcher as a bed (despite her having two very nice cat best of her own).In addition to the scratcher and scratch post, my kitties absolutely love the bonus toy that comes with the scratcher. Again, this item is made out of wood and a very high-quality furry toy with a bell attached to it dangles from the end of it. My cats love it! I have taken to propping it up so they can bat and play with it all of the time. It has quickly become one of their favorite things to play with (and wake mom up with).Overall, the scratcher and bonus toy have provided a lot of fun and enjoyment for both of my cats as well as myself. It’s high-quality, well-designed, and provides my kitties with a lot of excitement, which, of course, is the most important.

Our cat likes he scratching box, but ignores the toy. She’s the weirdest cat I’ve ever known so that doesn’t surprise me. Toys are not her idea of fun. Fun for her is waiting around the corner to grab someone’s ankles with her claws.

Excellent!!! Wow! Our cat loves it. I bought it when we bought a new couch and didn't want her scratching it up. Put it out the same time and she has not scratched the couch once! She absolutely loves it! By it!

The free toy lasted a day or two with 4 cats but they like it a lot!

2 cats using this cat scratcher. It is a nice, quality, well engineered item. The bonus toy is fun.

Item came quickly! Just in time for my cats’ 2nd birthday! They loved it and my female cat even loves to sit and sleep on it.

My cat loved this! The only issue is my 3 year old nephew pulled the rod off of the base. But overall fun and great product for the price.
