The action is decent for a beginner combo—responsive enough to feel bites, and the reel has a surprisingly smooth and adjustable drag for something in this price range. The build felt solid while reeling in fish, not flimsy or toy-like at all.Portability:It’s lightweight and easy to carry. The pole breaks apart to make it less long, which makes it perfect for throwing in the car or hiking to your fishing spot.Limitations:As a beginner kit, it’s not built for trophy-sized catches or more advanced fishing techniques. Eventually, I’ll want to upgrade to a higher-end rod and a broader tackle selection. This is a great bundled kit of rod, reel, a few lures, and hooks. It's great for the type of fishing I do - panfish like bass and crappie from the shore or small boat. The reel breaks kinda easy if the rod if dropped on a hard surface like a driveway and I've had to replace 2 bundles because of it but all in all I'm satisfied with the product and recommend it.

Rod and reel feel good and overall I like it. It has one issue with locking up mid cast. I cleaned and oiled it with no change. I eventually put some new zebco Cajun line on it to try to help. That didn’t help either. At this point I just deal with it. It works great other than hanging up once about every 10-15 cast.

Excellent quality, great price and fast delivery. Easy to assemble and use. Very easy to load fishing line as well. Strong and durable. Perfect for kids. Holds pretty well up to about 55-65 lbs before I was worried about breaking it. Excellent started rod for my son

Gave rod and reel to my grandson. So far it works and looks great.

I think the 202 reel with rod combo for $9.99 is a better deal. We have a blue one and it is awesome. This rod broke on the second cast. Literally snapped in half when I pulled on the rod to attempt to retrieve a lure that was accidentally caught in a tree. The line should have broken, but the rod snapped in half instead. We used a hacksaw to cut it shorter and turned it into a "dock demon" and it still works ok, but that was one lame fishing rod and not a great value for $22 considering. Giving 3 stars because I have enjoyed Zebco products for 40 years, but this rod was the weakest Zebco product I have ever owned.
