Best decks to start with
If you (or your child) is new to the Pokemon Card Game, these are the decks you want to start with. Starting with these has several advantages. In addition to including the basic necessities to get started (coin, playmat, instructions), you get two complete decks that are reasonably balanced to play against one another. This makes these decks a great way to learn the rules and have some fun playing without worrying about how to build a deck that plays well.Unlike most of the other theme decks, these include some "staple" cards you find in many competitive decks like VS Seeker, Lysander, N, and Octillery. The inclusion of these cards allows a player to use these decks as a foundation for making more competitive decks later. Additionally, there are four EX cards included in the set (extra powerful Pokemon) that you don't see in other theme decks. My daughter loved these decks and we've had fun playing them against each other. They play a little smoother than some of the other theme decks we've tried (Iron Tide and Night Striker). Definitely recommended.

Get it while you still can for a good price!
This is a amazing product for beginners. With 2 pre-made decks, a play mat, rules, and damage counters, you and your opponent can battle and duke it out for who is the best of them all. When I purchased this product, it came with an extra Rayquaza EX, so that was very much lucky. I recommend this product to all Pokémon players, including any New comers, veterans, or experts

If you're set on getting theme decks, get these.
If you want to get into the TCG game without having to worry about deck construction right away, but still plan on doing it later on, I wholeheartedly recommend purchasing these decks over all other theme decks. These decks are packed several fairly high-valued trainer cards that are considered staples for standard decks, for a decent price. The decks are actually constructed fairly well, and they are probably the only theme decks out there that can serve as a somewhat solid basis for good deck construction (though they still have some small, glaring flaws that can be fixed with 1 or 2 substitutions)However, if you are looking for a good buy for small children, this may not be the best. Very young kids may get more enjoyment out of decks that are a little easier to play out and offer quicker games. If that's what you're looking for, try one of the "trainer kits" that come with two 30-card decks instead. Those are cheaper, too.All in all, these are two decent, premium decks. Well worth the money if it's what you're looking for, I'd say. They also come with several holofoil energy cards (a little more than half of the energies are holo), which are always nice.

Good bang for your buck
Keep in mind, these are probably not the decks you'd want for growing a collection- I recommend grabbing booster packs or boxes otherwise. These are decks meant for play, so you'll be getting energies and trainer cards with repeats (but that's definitely not a bad thing).I'm getting back into the TCG and I found these decks to be satisfactory. These decks are dated but it's not impossible to pull a win against the newer sets, and was easier for me to get into after having not played in years. Some good cards can be found here for deck building; cards like Zekrom, Victini, and Zapdos are always welcome. I personally found the Rayquaza deck to be the star of the show because of this since you end up with heavy hitters mid-game. With a few card swaps and deck tweaking, I can see myself continuing to using these.

Fun pre-built decks
Fun decks to get started with and to learn about older cards. I bought it for some GLC and Expanded staples, and the Holo energies are beautiful. Great value

Wonderful value - comes with EXs, 'N', and 'VS Seeker' trainers.
Bought this for a birthday gift for some Pokemon fans who wanted to get into the game. It is a great value and the best deck to buy on the market. Unlike the other $12.99 starter decks these come with some very useful trainers. The cards are not in season (IE-they can't play them at an official tournament) but they are very good for free-play games and learning the games. They also come with EXs and rare trainers like N and VS Seeker which the $12.99 starter decks do not. They are a great value and a great gift.

Great Decks!
Bought two of these deck boxes, one for my brother and one for myself. The cards are awesome, brand new (obviously), and fun to play. Each box came with both decks and deckboxes, a player's guide, Blastoise and Rayquaza flip coins (cheap and plasticky but cool nevertheless), cardboard damage counters and status markers, and a playmat (like a paper poster that comes folded so that it fits in the box). I loved this product and highly recommend it for Pokemon fans and new players, but buy a better playmat (this one looks fragile) and some card sleeves to protect your cards.
