A year later, still thrilled with this printer.
I've had this printer for a little over a year now. I'm not a professional photographer so I'm not selling my prints but I am putting them up around the house. I've attached a picture with a bright red dress on a totally black background. You'd expect problems with this kind of photo but none at all. The quality of photo paper used really matters. None of the hassles you can sometimes have to deal with when purchasing ink for some of the other brands of printers. I've bought no-name less expensive ink cartridges off of Amazon that work absolutely fine. Zero hassle and a great price for a printer that can print great photos. No complaints at all.

Exactly as expected.
I bought this printer for its features, value and name. I only used it a few times but I found the set up to be well explained. With photos and written explanations. I set it up across the room from my computer about 30 ft and while I had an initial issue of it connecting to my computer I was able to find the solution within a few minutes on their website. Over all I am quite satisfied.

Look for replacement ink first!
When our eight year old Canon MX492 printer died in the process of printing a single page (and I couldn’t get it to work after two hours), I decided it was time to replace it. I queried Google and was offered the suggestion of a Canon Pixma TR8620a. Looking at the description it seemed to be an ideal candidate. It was described as an ‘all in one’ printer. It also listed as a special feature, “Five individual ink tank system, Wireless printing, 20-sheet ADF for scanning and copying, Borderless printing up to 8.5 x 11" and square format printing, Built-in auto duplex printing”. Sounded great. I had decided some time ago that I would try to purchase a printer that used tanks instead of cartridges when I needed to replace the MX492. It looked like this was the time. When I installed the ‘tanks’, I noted that the instructions cautioned to not cover the “Y” shaped hole when installing them - I figured that the Y shaped hole might serve as a fill port. After I removed the orange cover on the ‘tank’, I saw what appeared to be a print head – odd that it would be on the ‘tank’. That’s because the ‘tank’ really a cartridge. What a bummer.Because that I was that far along, I went ahead and installed the software on two computers and managed to AirPrint from two different IOS devices. I figured that the five ‘tank’ (actually cartridge) system would be an improvement over the MX492 that used two cartridges – color and black. When any of the three colors was gone in the MX492 color cartridge, there was no way I could envision to get the use of the ink in the remaining two colors. The five cartridge system MUST be better. Perhaps it is, but while I haven’t spent copious amounts of time looking for single cartridges I haven’t yet found anything but a four pack or five pack for replacements. This is a disappointment. The setup instructions were brief and well written (as long as there was no need to connect the device to anything else (i.e., ready use it as a standalone copier or fax). When it was time to connect to WiFi, I tried the Easy Wireless Connect but it apparently couldn’t find the router (I waited more than two minutes before clicking on Alternative Methods). I ended up entering the WiFi password at the screen on the printer. Connection to the network was reported as successful, but the first time I tried to connect to it from the computer it didn’t work; second attempt worked. The printer seems to work OK. So far (two days later) the only things I’ve needed to print were black and they did fine; most on regular weight paper; one on card stock. The scanner seems to work OK from the operator panel (scanning to a computer on the same network; haven’t yet tried scanning from the computer). All in all, it seems to be a decent printer for the money but it is not a printer that has refillable tanks.

Canon PIXMA TR7620a
Very pleased with this purchase. I have to hold on to my quick start guide and ludicrous to have to punch in the password selected by the printer. I just stayed with the default password that it picked. Generally speaking it does all I need to and then some. A good guide, and I have a TR7620a, is using a search engine equipped with Co Pilot or other AI. it has been quite useful i.e, printing on index cards to make study flash cards for my notes. And very happy with this purchase overall.

WORST PRINTER & PHONE APP EVER!!
This will be my very first 1 star review, but I cannot help myself.I spend days and weeks researching every printer I've ever bought. I was in a bit of a hurry and only spent a few hours looking around before deciding on this one. HUGE mistake. The reason it is affordable is because it's not even worth the current price.I already own a strictly for photos printer and needed something for my home office/personal use. Canon has done good by me and the past, and it was at least 4 stars, so should be fine, right? SO Wrong. The set up was fairly simple but getting my phone connected to it was a straight nightmare. Even after it successfully connected, it consistently gave me a no "no printer available" warning the entire 1.5 hours I spent on it.1.5 hours to print ONE document. The app is absolutely trash. Seriously the worst, slowest, least user friendly device app I have ever encountered, printer or otherwise. It took FOR-EV-ER every single time I selected any option the made the app connect to the printer. Every single time, ever single option I chose. Even selecting "Printer Status" took over 7 minutes to simple tell me it was online. But the best part was the quality, for sure. I needed to print a single document. Just 1. It took me over an hour to print a just halfway decent copy. The black ink look ash gray in the first few copies, and not very black by 6 (the aforementioned halfway decent print which i decided to accept and be done).I got a "Printer Block"error, after error, over and over and over again, with no block to be found anywhere. The last copy I printer was no even very good, let alone great. The ink was dull and much more gray then black. I was able to FINALLY remove the page borders the printer kept inserting despite the settings corrections I did MULTIPLE times, but the only way I got them removed was through a third party app that adjusted the dimensions. In other words it dumbed it down so even this garbage printer couldn't justify another useless copy.I almost never leave bad reviews, but I could not live with myself if I didn't warn any future possible buyers to TURN BACK.Oh and after 5 copies my ink was almost halfway gone, just for the cherry on top.If you are considering giving this device a chance, one more time, It is a TRICK, Don't do it!
