Fantastic Dive Light — Bright, Durable, and Versatile!
The media could not be loaded. I’ve used the OrcaTorch D710V on multiple dives now — it’s easily become one of my favorite pieces of dive gear. The build quality is outstanding — solid, rugged, and clearly designed to handle saltwater and deep dives. To hook it up with my gear, I added a bolt snap attachment with extra fluorescent yellow line I had, and now it easily clips onto my BCD.The beam is super bright with great coverage, perfect for both general diving and underwater photography; though obviously more suited for underwater photography/videos due to the wide 120* degree beam. One of the reasons I chose to purchase this light as compared with some competitors was the 2000 lumen setting (many others maxed at 600 lumens), and the brightness does not disappoint in exposing the finest details of underwater creatures. Furthermore, the red and UV modes are excellent for night dives and spotting marine life, though I have not yet fully utilized these modes yet and will continue experimenting with them. Switching between modes is as easy as a light press on the button, even with gloves on (cold water diver).I have also been impressed with its battery life — last week I did 2 dives on the same afternoon with good runtime of this light, and still ended the 2nd dive with a “green” indicator on, meaning more than 40% light still remaining. I also appreciate that it comes with a USB-C rechargeable battery - makes recharging very easy! No water leak issues into the battery (yet but hopefully never!)Overall, an outstanding dive light that delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended for recreational and professional divers alike! Picture and video attached is unedited and not corrected in any way - hence why they are blurry but that's my camera's problem, not the light.

Excellent Light For Underwater Photography (Pictures Below are paired w/TG-7)
I have used this light in Fiji, Japan, Southern California, a couple of wrecks. Photos and video attached below. Note that none of the pictures have been edited, so what you see is what the TG-7 or GoPro recorded.Compare the following picturesFrogfish - White light, red light, blue light (not useful)Squid Run Photos (placed a smaller Odepro light in muck vertically to attract the squid) - White Light (lower setting), red light, blue light (interesting to watch but if moving very difficult to get a decent picture)I'll need to make video shorter to show different light settings (come on back back later!)The D710V has four light levels. Two levels of white for universal use and two (red/blue light) geared more for night photography/video. The strongest white light allows for sweeping views in natural overhangs, crevices, and for the darker corners of wrecks. I did notice that the highest level has a tendency to startle sea life (remember they don't have the same eyelids like us land mammals). If you're camping out to take pictures, I have found dropping to the lower setting is less traumatic and sea life has a tendency to relax a little more - seems to work up in most cases for pictures. In clearer warmer water (Fiji) I did use the highest setting to illuminate areas for fellow divers that had a handheld torch and couldn't quite see how vibrant the reef is at night. On the white wall, I used highest setting to get the soft corals to "pop" more. Japan did require switching back between light settings depending on depth and visibility (to be expected). I am trying to add video from a squid run in La Jolla (large file size). I mention these different locations (not to brag but to show usefulness of this light). Unfortunately, I also tried using the red/blue lights in all of these locations and had different results. Red light was useful for finding sleeping sharks before taking pictures with white light. During the day, I did not find the red light useful. In regards to the night/blue light....pictures never quite turned out. If you are drift diving or looking at dinoflagellates (and other micro life) it is interesting to see, but did not result in any decent pictures. If I had to make a complaint, it would be that the blue light isn't useful beyond a few moments of novelty.

Good quality light
A little expensive but after completing my night dive certification and 6 dives with it seems to work well. One tip before descending make sure it’s not locked first dive I had to go to my backup light for a while until I figured out what was going on. Not sure about it as a photography or video light I will update when I have the chance to use it.

Powerful, lightweight camera light
I recently bought the Orcatorch D710V underwater video light for a friend who is an avid diver because other friends had told me how great it was. She has already used it a few times and says she loves it. She does very long dives to look for interesting creatures and photograph them. She said the light on high power lasted for at least 90 minutes, turning it off once in a while for a few minutes in between searching, and that it was great on a dive approaching dusk. She said the light is very bright and that the red light could be useful for approaching shy creatures, while the violet light could be interesting for admiring corals at night. She said she likes that the button allows her to switch between modes very easily and turn the light off to save battery while she's swimming and not searching. She loves that it comes with a mount to attach on the camera (with a separately purchased Strobe Mounting Ball for Cold Shoe and butterfly clamp.) This makes using the light as a camera focus light very easy. She says if she uses two together, she thinks they will be great for video, or for very long dives because if one goes out after 90 minutes on high power, the other can be turned on to continue the dive, or both can be used together for super brightness. She says the light is lightweight, well built and strong, and she is very happy with it. She highly recommends it for underwater photographers and videographers. She said she told one of her close friends and expert photographers to ditch her overpriced famous name brand, heavy lights and switch to a pair of these for her professional camera rig.
