I didn’t get the chance to buy these types of wagashi while I was in Japan. These are tasty

Great for snacking if you like red bean! The outside was like a pancake, so soft!

These are a bit different from the usual over-sweetened snack cakes so common in America. I found them pleasant to the taste, although I can only imagine what they would be like fresh baked. I confess it was an impulse buy after watching season 1 of "Campfire Cooking in Another World With My Absurd Skill".

I was craving something with sweet red bean paste but too lazy to go to the local Asian market. These have a nice sweet taste that hits the spot.

My boys liked these, but they were too dry for my preference. I have had these homemade ones, which will always be better, but I was expecting something with better moisture content since they were individually wrapped. So I don't know if they weren't fresh or made with the dry texture intentionally.The center has a subtle sweetness that is hard to explain unless you have tried the beans that flavor the center before. I bought them because I hadn't seen the treats in a long time.The size of these is like a silver dollar pancake, no bigger. I was surprised how small they were.I gave three stars because my teen boys asked for more. If it were me alone, I didn't like them, but perhaps I am holding it up to a too high a bar- the homemade gold standard.

These were delicious and worth the purchase.

Decided to subscribe after having this with my morning coffee. It’s soft and delicate like a mini pancake but with matcha type paste. Good snack.
