TAJ Green Cardamom Pods Whole, 3.5oz | Indian Whole Cardamom, Elaichi Elachi

This cardamom took my curry recipe to the next level. I was so disappointed in the cardamom pods I bought at my local store, which were dried and crushed and not at all fresh- I'm so glad I found this brand online. Excellent depth of flavor, I could instantly taste a huge difference in my curry. Can't wait to try this in more recipes!

As expected, I received a sealed plastic bag of green cardamom pods weighing almost exactly 100g. These pods are greener and have a much stronger aroma than the pods I last purchased at an Indian grocery. The flavor is also stronger and better. Almost all of the pods are in good condition but there are a few imperfect pods (see photo of typical pods plus 2 imperfect pods). Overall, I’m pleased with this cardamom. I would order this again but 100g of pods will last a long time in our household.

This is a generous bag of cardamon pods that should last our household a long time. They are good and fresh--you get a powerful whiff of cardamon the second you open the bag. The flavor is also fresh and intense. This is so much better than "grocery store" cardamon, which is typically no longer fragrant and often brittle. The volume for the price of this product is also a good value when compared to grocery store cardamon. If you use lots of cardamon in your cooking, get this! And let me say too that I have tried several TAJ brand products and, based on my experience, consider this a quality brand. Recommended.

Ahh, green cardamom. The dried fruit from a relative of the ginger plant. The divine scent and flavor of this spice pairs amazingly well with teas, sweet, creamy desserts and it even has a few savory applications like pickles.Growing up in a Persian family, the smell brings me right back to my childhood; my mother cooking some rice pudding over the stove while the sweet aroma filled the house.This TAJ green cardamom is good stuff. It is fragrant and flavorful. I have purchased some super fresh green cardamom locally that was more aromatic and tasty, however this stuff is pretty good too.Stored airtight and away from sunlight, whole cardamom pods can last quite well for several years. We usually only use 2 or 3 pods for most recipes, so a bag this size will last us quite some time. If you don't have a good local source for fresh spices, this would be a great option for you.

The Cardamon Pods from TAJ are average quality but the price reflects that. They have a very fragrant aroma and add a nice flavor to anything added to. Happy with them and they will last a while.

Definitely very fresh - as soon as I opened it, it smelled amazing. Grinding some pods worked fine, and the seasoning in the dishes is just what I'd expect. Seems like a great product.The pods are a bright green, and may be a little on the small side, but not wildly so. I suspect they vary quite a bit.
