Very solid and bright unit for a nano or pico reef!
First of all, I'm a person who does not even bother to do product reviews, but this product is really nice and special to me in a way that I'm gonna tell you why in the "Seller Feedback" section so I thought I would have to spend a few mins to write up a review. This unit is very well built. It feels extremely solid. This will definitely grow corals in a nano tank. I could not believe that with $50 I can get a unit like this. Prior to opening the box, I thought I would have to buy a battery to run the remote control but I was wrong. There is a battery included in the remote control AND another backup battery included in the box. What else would you ask for? The kit includes 2 lenses, 180 and 60 degree, a goose neck and a tank mount, which are everything you need to lid a nano reef tank. I bought this to run my Pico Reef Jar so I have to turn it down to a medium brightness setting to not burn my corals. All right people. This may be the 1st ever feedback I've ever provided for a product simply just because it does not even bother me to leave feedbacks. I have to do this because the product is really nice and the customer service of the seller is extraordinary. So I decided to buy this unit because it's a cheaper LED unit compared to others...so I thought I would give it a try. It was mainly to run a Pico Reef Jar and worth only $50 so I was thinking "whatever". I was surprised because the unit is very well built for the price tag. However, what surprised me more was the customer service of this seller. What happened was they have different mounts for different units (rimless vs rimed aquarium or marine vs freshwater units I believe). Mine came if with the wrong mount so I could not mount it to my Reef Jar. I took a pic of the mount and email it to the email address listed on the manual. it was during weekend so I thought I would not get any respond till the next Mon. Guess what? I got a response within A FEW MINUTES later. As far as my understanding goes, different units have different tank mount, I just had bad luck that they put the wrong mount in my unit. I guess we do all make mistakes but how we correct it is what really matters. So the customer representative assisted me throughout the process to get the correct tank mount named Darlene Huang. She explained to me what really happened and what she would do to correct the mistake. She said that she would send me a new tank mount. Again, I was kinda in bad luck that my issue happened during Amazon Prime Day so almost everything got delayed. Darlene did inform me about this and I totally understood it. The supposedly replacement tank mount package finally came in after about a week. The moment I picked it up from the ground, I knew for sure it was just not the mount. And I was right. She sent me a whole brand new different unit of the Freshwater version with the correct tank mount. I thought it was another mistake so I offered to send everything else back without the tank mount if she sent me a shipping label but she told me to just keep it. I guess it's a very good way to compensate the mistake in the first place. On and on... it was a very special buying experience with this seller and I definitely recommend it simply because the product is of good quality and the customer service is beyond awesome.

You own youself a chance if NOT buying this light.
I usually don't write review much here but this time I have the urge that will need to let all the other buyer know. This is a GREAT LIGHT !The price is like "Poor Man Kessil" price but it actually serve better then Kessil.I am not talk about how "Bright" this thing is, although is very bright for what it use for recommend size of your tank.but it function BETTER then Kessil. You can dim this light to many level, Kessil can't.You need to buy separate controller for Kessil, this one don't.Kessil has the best shimmer effect, this one has it too. Not to a point like disco effect. The adjustment is endless. Kessil need to buy at least 2 accessories to achieve. The color spectrum is nice also, more on the yellowish side then blue which what I want for planted tank.Build quality is SUPERB ! For this price, you got a full metal thing except that plastic screws which you want it to be plastic.Give you an extra lens if you want more focus beam light style.I leave it 100 on for couple of days to test it out, still work, and the housing is just warm to touch. This light has NO FAN ! means no noise ! Kessil has fan. It's better then Flex Mini. They are great light too but this Asta 20 are serve more functions AND 30 dollars cheaper then Flex Mini.If you are looking for pendant style (Kessil like) light for your aquarium. You own yourself a good chance not to give a try !I have own Kessil, ADA, Anchera, Flex Mini, Altemis, Prime HD and Raidon. This light sit on the top of my chart !Yes, you can say all of the other also good light too... yup ! but no good to your wallet ! lol.

Pendant Style Fish Tank Light
The subject of this review is the F20 Freshwater Pendant light. This product line comes in several form factors. It is very important that you select the right unit from the product line for your application. Lominie makes marine and reef lights in this same product line. They also make a higher wattage freshwater light. All in the same product line. Read the description of each type before you make the purchase.I needed a light for a ten gallon tank. This tank will be used to hold Frogbit and Salvinia Natans during the colder months. I keep those two species of floating plants in an outdoor patio pond for most of the year. However, they have a habit of dying off during the winter. Last year, I used a large aquarium heater to keep the patio pond warm. Obviously, my power bill took a hit. I wish to avoid that this year. I also do not want to spend the money on an expensive Kessil light. Floating plants are not demanding of light because they are on top of the water. They get the full effect of whatever light you put on top. That said, they need something better than the color-enhancing lights that are used on fish-only tanks. I have an old kessil that was used for my indoor houseplants but it has a magenta color. I do not want magenta lights in my living room. So off to Amazon I went. Searching for lights. You can find any kind of light you want on Amazon. Normally, I would buy the light bars that go across the tank. I have had units from Current USA, Fluval Aquasky, Finnex Ray 2 DS, Finnex Plant, etc. The Finnex Ray 2 DS is very powerful and not something I want shining in my living room for 8 hours. I mean, you know, I live there too. Your humble reviewer has no use for photosynthesis. Burger and fries give me all the nutrition I need. I saw this Lominie and the form factor intrigued me. I ordered it and it came two days later. This Lominie is a no-frills unit. You will not find a remote control. It does not have those features that allow you to change colors. Nor does it have thunder and storm effects. None of the light shows which you normally find in general-purpose aquarium lights. I never used those features on my Current USA and Fluval Aquasky. I am not likely to miss those features. The quality of the gooseneck mount appears to be good. It holds its shape. Although, like any metal, if you keep bending it over and over, yes, the holding power will weaken. But really, how often are you going to adjust your lights. Find the right position, set it, and then leave it alone. The light dimmer is inline, on the power cord. Assembly is easy. The light beam's angle can be adjusted with a lens swap. It comes with two lenses. The standard is 90 degrees. You can remove that and put in the 120 degrees to get more coverage. Wider angle = lower intensity. I chose to leave the 90 degree lens. The coverage is enough for a ten gallon tank. A 20 gallon tall might benefit from the wider angle lens. A 20 gallon long or 29 high will need two of these Lominie units to grow demanding plants. I adjusted the gooseneck so that the lights reach the top of the water at a slight angle. This widens the coverage. The light intensity is more than good enough for floating plants. Although the angle means the intensity gets weaker under the water. Which is great for my use. I do not want algae on the bottom of the tank. This light will work for ten gallons or less. 20 gallons and up will require a second unit. A 55 gallon will need three. The light quality is quite good. It is on the cooler side of the spectrum though. Some people prefer a warmer color. Cool or warm, it will grow plants as long as there is enough of it.Why four stars instead of five? The mounting clip could have been better designed. I have a tank with a plastic rim around it. In other words, an All-Glass 10 gallon. The clip works but not as easily as it needs to. I had to make a lot of adjustments to find the right mount. Finally, I put some cork material on the exterior of the glass before tightening the holding screw. Otherwise, the holding screw will slide on the glass. It will hold but the light can move from side to side. I do not want the beam angle to change. So, I placed a piece of cork material on the glass and it is holding okay. It looks like the mounting system was designed for a rimless tank.Anyway, this is a great light. There are no bells and whistles here. The money was spent on the light and the gooseneck. The body of the light is metal. The gooseneck is metal. There is enough light for most plants. The light was designed for desktop cube tanks. For that, there is enough light that you can even use C02.Highly recommended.
